How the hell are you suppose to achieve a 3:1 win to loss ratio?

Was looking at the War College Ribbon and the only thing I noticed about it that is difficult is the 3:1 w/l ratio. Right now my ratio is 1.2 with 371 wins and 306 losses. I would have to win like 550 rounds or something in a row just to achieve that raito. But I guess that is the whole point of making it hard to get. Any tips on getting it, besides winning?

This seems like the only ribbon that isn't dependant on YOUR skill but the skill of others. I mean you could be the BEST commander but have a team full of idiots and still lose. Or you could have a team of really good players but a horrible commander and lose. Just curious on any suggestions. Thanks.

Yeah. Switch to the winning team just before the end of the round (which IMO is cheap so I'm not condoning it, just saying how it'd be theoretcially possible ). Otherwise you have to hope to hell you don't get stuck on a crappy team or join a game 5 seconds before your team loses.

I, for one, have no hopes of ever getting the WCR, and that's okay by me. :)

I've got no chance, I'd have to have something like 2000 more wins (and not a single loss) to get the WCR. It's a stupid ribbon and hopefully EA/DICE will change the requirements in the patch.

other threads said it was 3-1 kill to death ratio, is that not the case? Maybe with the new patch it will become easier

Wish it was. Somebody created a new account just to test it and it turned out to be w/l not k/d. If it was k/d it would be much easier to obtain.

Re: How the hell are you suppose to achieve a 3:1 win to loss ratio?

I've almost got it 2.75 win loss ratio with 15 commander hrs and 44 rounds to go. 5 Tips for you. In 2 weeks I've gone from 1.9w\l to 2.75 after already having played for 150 hours before actually trying for it.

            1) Play small maps with 16 players!!! Its much easier for a good player to make a big difference on a small map than it is for a good player to make an impact on a 64 player map. The small maps also end a lot quicker allowing you to rack up a lot more wins than you normally would.

            2) Be a mobile commander. Rarely have I ever seen a team that would cap flags and allow the commander to dedicate all his time to only commander. So go help them cap flags but dont forget about your commander duties. You do not get points for flag caps as commander but they are critical for the win.

            3) Never allow a tank to go unused on an infantry map. The second one side contols all the armor on an infantry map the other team is done. Keep it out of their hands at all costs.

            4) Cap all the flags you can. Dont worry about your scores or kills just cap flags like mad never stop. I repeat CAP FLAGS!!!!!

            5) Make friends! A friend of mine from my old clan plays with me all the time. Hes a good player and were both trying for this one so all we do is trade off commander time and cap flags. 2 Good players can make an even bigger difference on a small map than one can. Teamspeak can be a life saver.

This ribbon is the hardest to get but its much easier than it seems. The only problem is the longer you wait to get it the longer it will take you to get it.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, it does make sense to play on a smaller sized map. May have to start trying that out.

If you wanna be cheap about it. Join servers with autobalance off so you can switch at the end. Change servers a lot to get cheap wins. If you're in a game where u can't switch, disconnect before the round ends. I know I'll never get that ribbon since I don't really care about commanding or wins/losses.

Quitting early does not work and joining servers without autobalance is hit or miss too. When you quit early and your team loses you still get a loss since it keeps track of the stats everyone had during the game. Most of the servers with autobalance off have BF2CCs smart balance which will switch everyone except admins and does not show as being on in the server browser. There is no really easy way to get this one. Heres another post a started about this a week or 2 ago. I was wrong about some stuff but there are some good tips in there.

Step 1: Find a server that has a rotation that contains lots of Blackhawks.
Step 2: Survey the people who use the Blackhawks.
Step 3: A: If the people using the Blackhawks have a good chance of capping all of the flags, be on their team.
B: If the people using the Blackhawks are complete n00bs, just be on the opposite team and shoot them down over and over.
                          Step 4: Rinse and repeat.

just play on 16-20 people servers....then be commander and get as many points as possible and WIN WIN WIN

Its been established that its 3:1 global win\loss and not 3:1 KDR or 1:3 win\loss.

I'm not interested in the Navy cross or all the experts for 2 reasons. 4500 hrs needed for the Navy Cross= 187 Straight days of playing. I would be depressed knowing I wasted over half a year of my life playing BF2. You would need somewhere in the neighborhood of 10,000hrs to get all experts over 1yrs straight play time. I think I would die of boredom on a TOW getting my 750 hours for expert. Getting all the ribbons is a reasonable goal but getting all the badges will take wayyy to much time. Ill be happy with getting all the awards that are reasonably attainable ie Expert Knife (in the bag :)) Expert Pistol and Expert Explosives.

Cross your fingers and hope they change some of the criteria for the badges with the new patch.
