    registration error

I've been playing BF2 happily since about the day it came out. I have patched my game so I could continue playing.

I now have got a new computer. after the installation of BF2, the patches wouldnt install. The reason is, I think, that you need registration to install the patches. for registration, however, you need a unique CD code, and since I already used my CD code on my previous computer, I cant use it again, thus being unable to patch and to play online.

Can anyone of you tell me what I should do?

    Re: registration error

You can use your CD key again in another computer. There is nothing preventing you from doing so.

The patch has issues on certain machines so I would suggest you use this alternate patch:

Is it that you are trying to register with the same e-mail account? Or account name?

        Re: registration error

You don't need a new CD code for a new computer. Just install the game as you normally would. You only have to remeber your login name and password to use your old account, or start a new one.

But he's talking about having problems installing patches I think...

          To the original poster:
could you clarify by giving us the actual error message you are receiving?

            Re: registration error

First of all: the patch you gave me did not work. If I open it, it opens a DOS-like window in which text flies about to fast to read well, and then the program terminates himself, which has no effect on Battlefield 2.

Second: If I use my old EA-member account, it claims I already registered BF2, and all it does is asking me wether I want some bonus material. if I make another account using my CD-code, it claims the CD-code has already been used.

If I try to install the patch, it just says "patching failed".

              Re: registration error

Then don't re-register. Install the game and login using your old account information. Use the retrieve account instead of create account button.

But now you are talking about my BFHQ account, which works well on this computer. I am talking about my EA member account.

                    Re: registration error

Well, It isnt there. It only has information about subscriptions I've got, not about registration. And I dont think a picture would make things clear. If I login at my old EA member account, it claims I already registered, and if I use a new one, it claims my registration code is invalid.

patches is more than one patch you should only be installing 1 patch the "1.02 HOT FIX" patch then PunkBuster (PB).
You do not need a registration to install the patch or PB.
If you have the game already installed and try to reinstall the "CD" "key code" on your game handbook or inside case it may come up with "account already created"
Edit did you use the same hard drive from one PC to the other or have you connected 2 PC's together?
In game when logging in you get pictures like A,B, C,
                      A

                      B

                      C

Which are you having trouble with?

                        Sorry, I meant patch.

I have no trouble with any of them. the problem is my EA member Account which you use to register.

                          Re: registration error

Ok then use picture "c" when in game log in to your EA BF2 account with your E-mail that you created the original BF2 account with and password and you will retrieve (get back) your old account.
