Re: Texture Alignment & Roads (w/ pics)
Unfortunately I don't think that problem has been solved - it is in everyones map - like a fault line heh. Just yours is in a bad spot - most of the time you have to disguise it.
You may try to flatten your terrain where the roads are in that specific area. -

This editor sure could use a patch or 2. I mean, hows it ever gonna get out of beta if they don't impliment fixes to be tested too??Comment

Clean your lightmaps folder and try regenerating yoru lightmaps with only nearest off. Read the FAQ.Comment

Re: Texture Alignment & Roads (w/ pics)
I've read through the FAQ and I see nothing referencing this issue. The only thing that stands out is your advocacy of the "apply spline" command. I've tried to stay away from using it as it totally mangles the terrain. If I apply the spline I need to spend another hour smoothing the roads out, it sersiouly sucks. (I've tried placing the spline on, above, and below the terrain).
I'll try it tonight on a small section. Thanks for your input guys.Comment

1. Totally flatten road area = failed
2. "Apply spline" command = failedComment

Re: Texture Alignment & Roads (w/ pics)
I asked one of the mods at the BF editor forum about using the stamp/align method to fix this, here's his reply:
"If by "road pieces" you mean where road splines meet... then sadly no, this method does not work for roads.
the stamp/align features are only available when in "move" mode in the Level editor, and not when in road mode. Although it's a pain, the only way to get the roads to line up is to move the spline points around manually.
you can save yourself a little trouble by having road splines overlap, have the last 3 or so control points of one spline match up with the first 3 control points on the next one... the same technique can be used for splits in the road. This can be difficult if your have a complex road system in you map and works best if you plan all the roads out before placing any of the splines, but it does minimize the amount of editing needed later to get the roads to line up correctly."Comment

No I meant read the FAQ on how to generate lightmaps. To fix the problem clean the lightmaps folder and regenerate lightmaps by using the tutorial I put together or generating lightmaps.Comment

rgr that. Cleaning light maps only removes static objects that were on the map and then removed. It doesn't effect the roads.Originally posted by -R|F-GlitchNo I meant read the FAQ on how to generate lightmaps. I'm not concerned with the color deviation, I know that will be fixed with the final light compile. My issue is with the road splines not matching.
I've noticed these issues on the official maps some also and I think I have a plan to deal with it. I'm going to break up the roads into two units. One coming from the West and one from the East. It'll be a pain to tweak them at the merge since the editor view doesn't match the in-game view but it should help.Comment
