Re: Effects having an effect on gameplay
Not enough in my opinion. Smoke should be thicker, and last longer, and something I would like to see is the dust kicked up from bullet impacts lasting longer, not just appearing then going very quickly. Also, no-one has mastered tracers yet. I wanna to see more tracers, and actually feel scared. Heck, I know its only MG rounds that use tracers, but you dont have any other way of percieving bullet 'whizz-by' as it were.Originally posted by Frosty289What do you guys think? I totally agree with you charlie. I'm working on a very subtle 'smoke trail' for bullets, i'm also thinking of giving them a looping sound while they are 'alive' so you would hear the bullets going by you. I have ideas all the time.Comment

Re: Effects having an effect on gameplay
Smoke grenades need ALLOT longer duration and much thicker smoke, then they will actually be usefull.
Bullet holes are not something that bothers me, when you are in the heat of battle most of it is lost really anyway so is pretty much pointless. As for the bullet 'whiz' t'is a good idea but not sure how much more involving it will make it feel.Comment

Re: Effects having an effect on gameplay
I agree with everthing Charlie has said.
The only thing I can think about is when you run up to a tank, APC, or any vehicle is that if you stand on them when they move, even a little like a inch or less you player dies no matter what. Y'all need something that allows you to sit on tanks or APC when they are moving like in real life. Mabey not on the jeeps because that seems no posible. Now saying that if I jump on a tank and and the cannon rolls to hit my player I believe I should fall off. Or if the machine gunner ether one is aiming somehow toward my player and fires it should hit me posibly killing me. All same going for APCs.
Then going to TKing, I know you probably have millions of forums about them but this is the first place I want to put this thought I have. Now take mines and claymores, I think if a player is not looking ether for the red skull on the screen or around the ground and he hits one its hit fault.
First is Mines if any vehicle is going full speed and not looking for mines its his fault for dieing. In real life if a tank driver or jeep driver didn't see the mine and got blow to pieces its not the guys fault in the base 3 miles away.
Second, Claymores same goes for them, if the guy runs past the corner not looking and gets blown up its the same as if the enemy was sitting there with a machine gun. Or if he climbs a ladder and doesnt look before he climbs over its his fault.
Now going to C4 different rules go for that because it has a trigger the player can push. Now for C4 it shouldn't be changed if it blows up a team mate he should not have done it, or take the punishment for it.
My last one alot of people will agree and alot will disagree, its Planes. Now if i get in a plane before another dude does and he thinks its his and ether shots at my plane or stands infront of it as I try to take off I should get to take my plane and run him over as he is in front of it. But saying that alot of people would aim to hit you if they had this ability, this probably goes for the Mines and Claymores too. But this is the world we live in not everyone is "cool".Comment
