My planned specs for OCT.

All rightly, here are my "planned specs"

AMD SEMPRON 3100+ 1.8ghz(can be overclocked to 3.1ghz)(AMD=Faster)

Graphics Card: Nvida Geforce 6600 GT 256mb

Ram: 256+512(that 512 ram is PC3200)

Sound Card: Good enough


How should this run Battlefield 2? Also what will be my peformance and what settings do you recommend I use?

Get an Athlon 64 3000.

Your graphics card is good for medium settings, maybe some on high.

You should get at least a gig of ram, but 1.5 or more is recommended.

Well my dad just bought this computer so it going to stay for a while. I asked some guy at EB Games and he said it was a little on the slow side but good enough.

BTW, I got a DSL connection.

If you would like a card that can play the game on 1024x768 with 4x AA, 16x AF, all Ultra High settings, you can buy my 6800 Ultra.

Lol, theres no way you're gonna get that Sempron 3100+ to 3.1Ghz overclocked. Don't even dream about it. I say you're gonna max out at 2.6GHz. Don't tell whatever someone else told you, I'm telling you that if you put it at 3.1Ghz, you'd better have a $1000 vaporcooling setup cooling the chip.

Memory - Doesn't matter if the 512MB is PC3200, what is the speed of the 256MB? Because if the 256MB memory is slower, then the system will automatically set the 512MB to the speed of the 256MB memory.

Is your processor a Sempron 64? IMO, its not worth getting a sempron anymore unless its the 64-bit version.

It's not 64-bit version. But right now that's what going to make due with. Hey how do I find the speed of certain ram?

Truthfully, you are about 2 years out of date with that spec. You asked for an opinion please don't consider it a flame. If its going to have any life you have to look at a 64 bit Processor.

Your OC naivety is obvious the effort and extra cooling you would have to use to get your proposed performance is just not worth it.

If its a cash issue wait a little longer and put a decent rig together.

Okay that's a bit harsh. Ever since I got this rig, runs 100x times faster than my 750 mhz celeron.

Battlefield Vietnam runs well with 64 players on it at once. Besides do I have remind you guys that I am not paying for this stuff and my dad is? Lol.

He just bought this rig in June. You expect him to fork out money again?
