    1.03 and Special Forces

So, I was on a server the other day with a promo pic that said "Rent your BF2: Special Forces server this November", which begs me to believe Special Forces will be out sometime in Oct. or early November.

Since 1.03 is officially announced as being released on the 3rd of October, it almost feels as if the game was delayed on purpose to this day, almost as if the tweaks and changes being made to BF2 original will be added, or have already been added, to BF2: SF.

I hope that SF, which will include two of my favorite gunships of all time, raises the bar a bit, and does not include the same bugs as BF2 experienced. In other words, I hope EA/DICE doesn't use the consumers as their post-BETA testers for BF2: SF.

Bring us something stable please. BF2 rocks, just get it fixed!!!!

I wont be buying any "expansion packs" from EA..

I am still upset for buying this BETA-FIELD 2 game...that still, to this
day has (in their words..) 150 bugs in it.. (and in my words..) is
    getting boring..

too many things to fix with BF2 for me to trust them to get it right
    with this expansion pack..

at best DICE are a bunch of novice programmers, and at best EA is
    simply a bad publisher.

I bought Secret Weapons, and I bought Road to Rome. No reason I won't be buying SF too.

I'll buy SF, but maybe in protest we should all wait until the first patch for it is released before giving EA our cash. That might encourage them to fix the stuff BEFORE putting it on the shelves.

              Re: 1.03 and Special Forces

I think there is a definite correlation between the patch delay and the expansion pack release. I believe EA/Dice is waiting to implement the patch on the completed expansion pack to avoid having to undertake the entire patch process a second time with Special Forces. Does this make good buisiness sense? Yes. Does it p*ss me off because I have to wait on an Exp Pack I won't buy? D*mn Skippy.

Wait! But according to your signature you will buy the expansion once EA fixes the original. Right? Contridiction?

...anyways. You seem to be very PO'ed sir, more so than needed, it's a game. 50$. So it was a bad purchase in the "quality-to-price" ratio. But, I'm sure you have made other bad purchases before. Companies are not always perfect. EA moreso'. I mean, hell, it's your fault for being upset in the first place. You KNEW ahead of time what EA does with a good 90% of their titles that aren't Madden. Yet, you still bought the game... then, turn around and have the nerve to point fingers back at the developers and publisher (Although deserved, you knew what level of support and quality to expect. I can't stress this enough.)? I can understand not liking getting shafted, but, it's only 50$'s. A nice dinner at Chillies. Let it go...

Boycotting EA isn't going to do ANYTHING, because, quite honestly. They make a killing every year off of the exact same three titles... Madden, NBA Live, and NASCAR Racing for the consoles. Bf2 is probably about 15% of their pofit forcast for this fiscal year, and quite honestly, they met that forecast with flying colors. SO! Even if they only sell about 20% of the total Expansion packs they publish (Which, they will not. Sheeple will be out and full force) they still with come out positive on their "Cost of Production" vs. their " Profit ".

Let your voice be heard bro'.. fine and dandy. Just, you come off so friggin' PO'ed over a bad purchase in gaming. 50$, most homeless people have that in change. That's only about 1% of the income of someone living in poverty. So, it couldn't really hurt ya' that bad... could it?

There is no such thing as bug/problem -free software. Anyone who bought it hoping that it was bug-free doesn't know the software industry. I do feel your pain, but how many of the "150 bugs" actually affect you to the point where you don't play anymore or won't buy an expansion pack? Just curious. If some of the bugs affect your game play on a regular basis, I agree with you. But most of these (in my opinion) are obscure items that don't affect most people, or are not so obvious that gameplay is affected regularily.

On the other hand, if my stock were at $60.00 a share, 3-4 billion in sales yearly, and 5-6 of the top 10 games every year, people can feel free to call me a bad publisher all day long. I am at home counting my cash while people are buying my stuff with no end in sight.

And you're a fanboy. If you can't realize EA is trying to CHEAT you out of probably $30 with an expansion pack, be my guest on wasting it. Admit it, Battlefield 2 was by no means a finished product and the bugs the game should have been at least in the state it will be in after 1.03 when it released (Assuming they don't screw this patch up as well).

OMG noes, new armies? A zip line, grappling hook, night vision and night levels. Are you forgetting you could get more for FREE out of mods? (and probably better looking, or at least HONEST considering mods don't, oh...I don't know, touch up their screenshots to over-hype their mod like EA over-hypes their "products"?) Seriously, look outside your narrow point of view for a minute and look at the big picture. If you tell people who have a RIGHT to complain to stop complaining and go somewhere else, you need to rethink your philosophy.

                          Re: 1.03 and Special Forces

$30 is nothing for me in regards to online gaming. That's a buck a day for one month that gives unlimited entertainment. Hell, I've played old school online games where there's been a $30+ monthly fee just to play it. I'm just glad I don't have to pay hourly just to be on the internet anymore. :p I don't see how I can be "cheated".

If you don't want the bonuses in the expansion pack, simply don't buy it. Most of us at least understand how businesses operate. We know we're not gonna have a freely maintained and updated game for a flat fee of the original $50 for the game. And as I said a moment ago, $30 ($80 if you count both) is nothing when it comes to unlimited entertainment. I can blow that much for one night's dinner.

Just be glad there's a MOD community so you can get all sorts of different updates for free. I doubt you're one to donate to those hobbyist programmers though.
