PCI cards that work with the game?

I tried searching the forums but couldn't find the answer to this. I have a 3.2 ghz p4 540 with 1 gb ddr. It has an ATI 9250 with 256mb of ddr on it. Can't use that computer because of the video card. It's PCI. Is there a PCI card that does work with the game? If so please name it? I'll get the darn thing tomorrow. Right now I'am using my sons computer and it is at the bare minimum specs with a radeon 8500. Any help you guys can give me would be great i'am not a computer guru.

How do you have a socket LGA775 processor on a PCI board? Aren't they supposed to be on PCI-Express boards?

Just cracked the computer open to look in there. I have ALWAYS had an agp card in all of my previous computers. I need to know what a PCI-E connector looks like. Right now I have a pci card in a slot, I have a network card in another. Theres an empty slot above that with a weird looking tab on the end of it. Below all of the slots theres a tiny connector looks like a shrunken pci connector. If you have a picture of a pci-e connector i'd be able to tell you what I have. I'am not a computer builder or anything so I don't know all of this stuff.

        PCI express board - http://www.pctuning.cz/ilustrace2/ch..._board_big.jpg

The two long white slots in the top middle left are PCI express slots, the smaller ones are PCI slots.

If you post the manufacturer and model of your board then we can get a clearer picture of what you have.

That card works, my friend ordered that card because he doesn't have an AGP or PCI-E slot, and he runs BF2 fine on lowest settings.

He has 1 GB of GeiL RAM and a 2.4 Intel Celeron.

No, PSL is Port Saint Lucie.

It's on the east coast, about 2 hours north of Miami.

I found out that I have a pci express slot in the computer. I never realized that was what the last slot was. I have filled it with an ati x700 256 mb ddr card. The game plays really well now on my computer. Thanks for all the help guys!

Awesome, now you have some room to upgrade, because that x700 won't be too hot in alot of upcoming games. I have seen what FEAR looks like on all low settings (my friends computer) and then I have seen what it looks like maxed out settings (my computer) and there is a HUGE difference. All low is like watching Doom I on PC. Maxed has the greatest graphics I have ever seen in a video game. But if you want, you can buy my 6800 ultra. Info in sig.

If it works then there is no problem :)

It seemed like it was considered a POS and I was about to become seriously depressed since I just got it. It runs BF2 very well and with no jerky skips or jumps like the radeon in my sons computer.
