Pistol Tips

I have been using my pistol a lot and I thought I would post some tips.

• Aim for the enemies head. Even if they have an automatic weapon you will usually kill them if you put a few quick rounds into there head.
• Use stealth. It is much easier to get kills if your enemy does not see you. I recomened hiding in a bush or behind a building and wait for them to pass you and then shot at there heads.
• Use your sights. You will not hit anything with the pistol without the sights, Use the sights . The sights are a little harder to use with the silenced pistol but I have found that you need to line up the top of the silencer with your target, or sometimes a little above.
• Try taking out the enemy from long range. I don't know why but the pistol is an amasing long range weapon in this game. Take your time and aim for the head, you will usually come out alive as the enemy usually has there gun on auto which is very unaccurate.
• Don't chase people. Most of the time when I chase people trying to get a good shot I follow them into a group of enemys and am killed. This might be different for you thought :).
• Only engage one enemy at a time. Take out the enemy soldier when he is alone. You are sure to be killed if you attack multiple people at once.
• Use a good mouse. This is not of great importance but a good mouse helps a lot. I recommened the Logitech MX518, it is a great mouse.
• Practice. Using the pistol well takes a lot of practice same with all the other weapons in the game.

One of the most satifiying moments in this game is when you kill one of those nasty GP-30/M203 spammers (a soldier with a pistols worst enemy) with a pistol. They hate it.

The biggest thing is that when you use the pistol 'iron sights' that you have to aim ABOVE the sight.

Are you using the red dot on the sight to aim? I use that and I rarley miss.

Really? I've never had any problems hitting my target without the iron sights unless I'm sniping with the pistol. I usually use the pistol when I'm in close range and/or surprised by the enemy and I usually empty half a clip into him as fast as I can, killing him.

you will hit the head many more times if you use the sights and I only use about 5 rounds in the head for a kill

I still don't think I've seen this 'red dot' you're speaking of. I have over 250 pistol kills and maybe I haven't seen it because I'm colour blind...

You're talking about the PISTOL, right?



PS - I never play spec ops or sniper so maybe this is something specific to the silenced pistols?

There is a dot, it is hard to see but look closely and you will see it. It is the same pistol with everykit. The dot is on the front sight (the one at the end of the barrel)

idk..most of that was mostly common sense to those that have used the pistol b4...except the part about the sights..never knew that :)

Thanks for the feed back.
I posted this because the pistol is one of the most usful but underused weapon in the game. If more nOObs use pistols good there will be less nOObs . But I hope everyone could get something out of this guide.

I was like 10 on the pistol leaderboards for a while :p , but the biggest thing I found is that you need to tap the **** outta your mouse to fire as fast as you can up close. If you can keep the crosshairs on the persons chest (not armored guys) you can take him down fast. Head shots work really well due to the accuracy but unless your a good shot go for the chest. It takes a bit of skill getting headshots at close range with it, well if your moving. If you stop moving your dead, so try and unload a lot if you come face to face with someone. If you sneak up go for the head.

Well, I looked for the dot but could not see it.

I'm red/green colourblind so that may be the problem.

I'm playing at 1280x1024 so it may be harder to see at a higher res?

Anyway, I'm doing well so far without the dot

I LOVE my pistol I have, on a few occasions, taken out 2 and 3 enemies in a row with it. They just don't see somebody wielding a pistol as a threat I guess...

i use the engineer kit wit the pistole cuz u use the pistole for LR and shotgun for CC.
