for Performance boost, cache folder ??

guys

i have heard that you can boost up the peformance and reduce lag / stuttering , with delete sometiming in the cache folder of BF2

but what delete , the whole cache map itself or the folder with that numbers and strings , or all files inside the folder with nummbers & strings ????

and when i install new Nforce 4 ultra chipset drivers, will increase this peformance in bf2 ???

and are there other things to do to increase peformance in BF2 ???

Delte the string inside the folder. All of it. You may have more then 1 folder so delete the inside of that too.

Delete the number strings in the cache. Then start the game again and set your video settings where you want them to be,(Aliasing,textures,etc.,etc.)and leave it when your satisfied and presto, IMPROVEMENT. This really worked well for me.

The cache folders (the ones that are long strings that look like registry codes) save all the optimizations and settings that the game went through to save your settings whenever they changed. For some reason BF2 doesn't ignore or delete old ones, so every time you change your settings, it creates a new cache folder, but when you play the game, it's still looking through all those folders and over-writing the old ones, so it slows your performance. Most games automatically delete or ignore older ones, so deleting the contents of your cache folder is a very good idea whenever you change settings.

and what about the nforce drivers for my motherboard , do i gain peformance with that ??
