MD5 error!!!! Install Error!!!!! Game Modification error!!!!!!help!!!!

I have a MD5 error during the install. it will install with errors and will not let me join online games because it says i have modified game content

    so heres what i did.

    I have the PC/CD version

I changed my cd rom drive. still nothing

I reformatted my Hard drive. Still nothing
I changed my hard drive and reformatted the new one still nothing.

At this point i decided to take the game back to walmart and get another one. and it still didnt work.

Next i read a post saying it could be your ram. I have two sticks of ram so i tried taking each one of the out and trying to install with one of them being out. then i tried changing the ram still nothing.

I was so frustrated that i decided to call EA to see if they could help. They told me to try to install it in safe mode. Still nothing. so the guy says well this is a common problem send the game back to us. and we will give you a game that always works for people with this problem. My question was if you have that game why the hell dont you put it into the stores. He didnt answer.

I looked in the manual on the take back procedure. It is such bull sh*t you have to pay for the postage, send them the original receipt with the game and probably wait 4-6 weeks to get it back. I dont know about you but i want this game now damnit!!!!

So i said well let me take the game back to a different walmart. (if you take the game back by the way you dont get an original receipt.) Still didnt work i need help with this i am very ****ed off i just built my computer and it was basically for this game.

    Heres my specs

    P4 2.8 GHZ Prescott
    1GB Ram
    Nivida Geforce 6600GT
    running Winsows XP

Please i need help from someone who knows more than EA's taliban tech support.

did you update punkbuster manually? seems like PB is detecting that you have a modified content because you dont have the current version of PB..

HEY GUYS!!!! heres a fix that works!!!Hey guys!!!!
Ok, after spending two days on this stupid little problem I finally pin-pinted the fix! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PATCH!!!!!! Some of you probably experienced this problem for a first time after the path......ITS quite simple!!!!! TURN OFF ALL Firewall settings, both generic and specific! Thats it! It seems the game has a problem with any firewall settings, and as a result claims you have modified content because of it!
      Hope this helps guys!

yeah I figured this out when I first bought the game. It wouldn't let me into MP games and SP games were unstable. So after re-reading the manual I noticed it said to turn off all background applications so I switched off everything even my firewall and it runs very smooth now...bunch o bs huh?

Re: MD5 error!!!! Install Error!!!!! Game Modification error!!!!!!help!!!!

I never had any firewalls on and i updated punkbuster still nothing. I have no AV software installed either. I also tried copy the install from a friends computer still nothing. the weird thing is all the file sizes are the same as his install even the ones that install with that MD5 error. Also i tried running the DVD version with no luck.

So if anyone knows anything else I'd appreciate it.

Yes, I know, go into control pannel and check your network settings, spec. File sharing and Packet Schedualer. Make sure that all firewall settings are disaibled!
