    Punish the other way around!

    If someone drives right over your AT Mine, he should get -4 and you could punish him for destroyin your mine/claymore. Does that sound good or does that sound good?!

    That would be the greatest way on earth to grief other players.

      Re: Punish the other way around!

      All I know is the other day I just started a game in progress on kubra and a BH came out of the dam tunnel and I'm not getting any ID on screen and I dont [mistakenly] see a friendly chopper in my upper right Display...So like a noob, I shoot exactly 3 20mm rounds at it and wound the BH & kill 1 passenger and I get 3 'dont hurt teammates/ teamdamage' warnings and I stop shooting .......blah blah blah.

      So my 0 starting score is all of a sudden -16 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for essentially 1 TK.

      Something has to change and as I've said before, it's this simple;

      Make a server setting where any Team damage is inflicted on the offender except AT mines and Claymores [which need their own fixing.]

        TK Punish the other way around? So like, the server should give you points when punished as sort of like "I'm sorry that this idiot always punishes". Sort of like pity points, hehe.

          That won't work...then snipers will put claymores near spawnpoints and will get to punish others? I don't think its a good idea

            Just remove all punishing. I'll be happy.

              The only way I can see of solving mines/clays is making them simply not detonate on friendlies at all.

                That thing about inflicting damage on the offender has to be the best idea ever. If you shoot a teammate to half health, they don't get half health, you do. Also, you should lose 1 team point for every 100% lost, so people cant shoot a medic, lose 50% health, and have the medic heal to full. That would encourage stat padding. If you lose 1 point for every 100% health lost to yourself because of teamdamage then it would undo the 1 point someone gets from a heal. That might sound a little complicated when you read it, but if it was actually in affect, you would notice a big difference.

                  ^^ I agree - screw the realism, its the only way to get rid of the problem...

                    It [self-damaging FF] was a server mod/ option for MOHAA later on for the game and it worked wonderfully, it had the effect of actually making you think before you shot at someone.

                    I hadn't thought about it but you're right it also would stop some stat padding.
