say isnt that a tow missile...cuz it has a tow cable attached to it for guidance...and ive seen that video soo many times..but how do u even aim it..it seems to go so far off into the distance that u wouldnt be able to see it and they could hit that tank...

It's range is 2.5 km, i doubt ANYBODY could see a target or missile 2.5km away without visual aids (camera on the missile, binoculars, etc. etc.)

The T-72 in that video is rigged with high explosives to make a nice marketing impression. While real tanks indeed have lots of inflammable stuff (ammo, mostly propellant) onboard, this deflagrates much slower than the high explosives in the video. It´s not unusual that T-72s will lose their turret due to propellant explosion/burns, but you don´t see them get teared apart like in this marketing video in the real world (See a lot of pictures from the last 2 iraq wars for evidence).

Infact in mercenaries there were hummers with TOW's on top instead of the browning. That would actually be a cool thing to see. But you would have to beware of others as it would kill you instantly.


And yes that tank got turned into pizza.

i remember the javelin in Joint Ops Escalation it would ruin your day the maps were huge in that game and you'd be assaulting a position with your tank and next thing you know all 3 of you are dead from some jerk sitting way up on a hill somewhere with the javelin

Yeah that was a good game. In the expansion pack they will have hummers with tows mounted on them.:rock:

I saw this movie earlier, but then it mentioned that that tank was packed with explosives (which would explain the huge explosion).

All tanks are packed with explosives. All that ammo has to be stored somewhere.

Its easy...

The Javelin has an arc measurement on the eyepiece. You can configured it for different ranges.

To find the range you use what the US Military calls a Laser Range finder. Measured by intensity it will return the exact range using the slightest deviation in laser brightness. From there you calculate your arc and fire.

Most tanks and helicopters in the U.S military are equipped with them.
