PKM Question
Iv hear that the PKM was Practlicly : Prone and spread kind of play? id like to have some feedback from players who unlocked it. Thx for the Help.

The thing is with the PKM is you need to know how to use it properly. The hotter your barrell is the less accurate it will be. Firing in 3 round bursts will only take it up 1 or 2. Once you go beyond 2 you better pray because if you get past 3/4'th of the way you cant hit **** even close to you.Comment

PKM is more powerful than the standard LMG, more accurate, and takes longer to overheat. It does have half the clip size (LMG has 200 bullets, PKM has 100) but it fires slower so it doesn't really make a difference.
It is like you say tho nowhere near as accurate as most other guns and you will get beaten every time nearly in the middle to long distance.
Best used as either an anti-vehicle gun as it can seriously damage jeeps and choppers or as a suppressing fire bullet hose to keep the enemy down while your mates take a flag.
Prone and spread: yep
Accurate: nope

Anti-Vehicle, I agree, but surpression fire? No. I have no fear of even getting hit by a LMG from a distance of more than 50m. So, I just stand in the open and fire back. I win everytime.Originally posted by Crashlander
The Concept of the Support weapons being used as actuall support would never work because they don't have enough accuracy to make you feel that you need to duck and get outa' fire...etc.

It does work but you have to keep the shot bursts small, like 2-5 bullets a time. The hooge clip means they can't really pop their heads up at all coz you hardly ever reload.Originally posted by {WP}PaasComment

1. Honestly, don't shoot at a vehicle unless it is smoking, or if it is a chopper you want to scare away, make sure you're in a blind angle from the gunner. The actual damage it does is very little, though. Never ever shoot at an APC or Tank, you deal no dmg, all you do is a little stress and give them a frag.
2. "covering fire" works in very few situations, but it does work. Especially if you hit the guy once. That said, it will only work if they don't know where the bullets are coming (so they'll hide, and if they spot you, you're likely dead because of carbines accuracy). 2 pkms do this much better....and the feeling you get from the noise of 2-3 of those firing together is great (until a M203 ruins your fun lol)...basically a X fire set up would work better.
3. in order to get streaks, you must use sniper techniques (to ambush charlie), once you kill a group, move (they'll come back for you).
P.S. one of the funny thing when i play with my pkm is that a lot of people rush to take my kit when i die.Comment

Yes definetly worth to unlock. It is very destructive, from distances for around 10-20 meters I always win with it. And you can also win from an assault rifle at most distances. Choose it.Comment

I just hit Sergeant and I unlocked the G3, the first thing I do is join a game and pick up a PKM from a dead guy, I killed 17 people in less than 5 min. Boy did I regret my choice. But I still find the G3 VERY powerful and I just learned how to play with it and I find it pretty awsome somtimes, but at long range it sucks.. I would choose PKM over the G3.Comment

well of the 1000+ kills I have gotten with the PKM, 2 are non-prone rofl, but this is basicly an extremely good weppon, just prone, and u can take ppl out from far away, not too far though, and they wont know what hit emComment

yes yes yes, i praise the PKM. dont listen to the inaccurate BS, i beat sniper 2/3 of the time. the extara body armor keeps you alive, and you can kill squads with half the clip. the only downside is that any n00b can get you proning with a 203Comment
