Its a truly revolutionary controler. Yes it looks like a remote because it can be used as one. The Revolution will be able to play DVDs. The "remote" controller can plug into a slot on a new version of the original controller. Also, there is a reader that you put on top of your tv that recognizes where the controler is in three dimensions. This means that, for instance, in the new Zelda game that Nintendo has confirmed is in production, you will have to swing the controler to swipe the sword. Wether this is annoying or useful I'm not sure yet but it is innovative and original.

it's real, the analog stick is optional, the controller actually uses some kind of gyro technology so basically sensors create a 3D environment that detects motions of the controller and relays it. so basically you'll be getting a whole lot of exercise for your arm/shoulder. you can also turn it sideways so you can play it like the OG nintendo controller. plus its wireless

AHHA gyro..funny word. It has nothing to do with strips of spiced beef in a pita with yogurt sauce but yes there is a node that will come with the revolution that will recognize the controller in 3 dimensions.

nintendo has been going downhill since the 64. Not switching to cds was a very bad move since they lost many chances for companies to make games for it who wanted to just stick with cds since it was easy. I loved some of the 64 games but it could have done so much better. The gamecube has a few, Very few, great games but overall has no real library to play. Not really worth getting. And now this. I wish they kept to their roots and just came out with normal games and many of them like the super nes and nes. But I lost any and all faith when I saw the ds let alone this. Touch screen my ass.

No, they did it to cover their ass. A unique media means that there is little or no chance of downloaded or pirate games circulating. As far as production companies wanting to work with CDs. Wrong again, cartridge games take less time to format and fill than CDs. Cartridge reproduction also requires no moving parts so the machines rarely ever fail.wu?
