Really Need Some Help

I am brand new to battlefield 2 and was wondering how all you guys chat to each other, not using the VoiP but through typing, I can use the standard commands accessed through the keyboard but nothing else - Would really love some help.......

You have to press the keys:
'J', 'K' and 'L' think it is :=\

Thanks very much for those tips, however I know the autovioice tips its how do I get the opportunity to type in what I want? I notice many of the players are able to do this.

yeah m8 its the keys:
J, K, and L

J is to speak to all (message to all via text)
K (message to team)
L (message to squad)

Problem is that there is so much spam on the left side of the screen, some times I can barely see the game... Plus there is no way of distinguishing between commo rose crap and typed messages, they all look the same - colorwise...
Hope they change that, or make it so that I won't see the commo rose BS on my screen, I have good ears, I am already satisfied with hearing all the auto talk on my headphones, no need to READ the darn stuff on the screen.
