    Trick to the M95?

Well I just unlocked the M95 when I made corporal yesterday. It's not as powerful as I'd hope, almost a re-skinned M24 in fact. There are some quirks Im wondering about. First the bullet doesn't seem to go where I'm aiming all the time, most of the time it's dead on but sometimes it seems to hit randomly around the crosshair rather then in the center.

So I'm asking the users of this gun is there some quirk to it I should be aware of?

Did you try searching the forum before posting this?

There are plenty of threads discussing bullet drop with the M95 and increased deviation compared to the M24. There are even video's showing bullet drop over distances for 400 meters or so.

As for its power the M24 has a damage rating of 95, the M95 has 190. That's enough to kill any slightly wounded player, and two shots are more than enough to take out any assault class. If that's not good enough for you, aim for the head.

Yes I think it has poor performance. You wasted an unlock.

Try to avoid aiming movement before the shot. Aim, wair 1-2 seconds, shoot.
Or let target walk into your crosshair. Weapons seem to be more accurate when you' don't move 'em

When you look at the vids found somewhere in these forums (careful not to get lost) you will find the important trick/point into becoming an expert sniper. Its all about estimation!

The tips just mentioned are good. Its also my 1st unlock, and am loving it!

After the m24, the 95 is heaven for me. Take drop into account, hold still real good, and its a almost guaranteed 1 shot kill each time.

My kills when sniping have about quadruppled since i got the m95 (abt 4 kills a death with m24, now avg 20 kills per death).

Weapons with poor performance usually has more to do with the people holding 'm (like me *lol*).

            Just my 2cts

M95 and general snipers are good for only one reason and that is to increase you kill/death ratio! I get odd 20 kills with 0 deaths although it does get boring sometimes and not to mention lonely

You wasted a unlock like I did. The M95 needs programming triicks to make a one shot kill against targets.

Especially when you snipe someone then pistol them down. What a waste.

But hey! we are in a culture where snipers dont matter and they should be nerfed right?! Too many people whining that they got owned by snipers over the last several years.

The best kills are those with the least amount of wasted firepower not banging away like a altustic audio-phile who cannot get enough of the Ka-boom! in the morning.

So far the M95 as been my only unlock and I love it. I know its not as accurate as the M24 but the stopping power alone is worth it. Despite what Heavy552(AWG) said you can make head shots without aimbots or programming tricks, you just won't make them as often as with the M24.

Spend some time using it, took me a few days to get used to it. When you're aiming for distant targets remember bullet drop and lead the target. I pick this sniper rifle over all others because even if you only get a body shot you stand a good chance of getting a kill or at least an assisted kill point.

Just like a real sniper, you have to judge the distance first!

m95 is good but i still think the m24 is better way better to get headshots

M95 was my first unlock, but I found, especially under any lag whatsoever, that I couldn't hit crap...the deviation would just randomly place the bullet around people (very noticeable at 300m or more)...After going entire games without hitting much, I switched back to the M24 and did MUCH better...a headshot is a headshot and either weapon will kill with one...I almost never use the M95 anymore, with the exception of sharqai since it has helicopters and a tight environment where the shots aren't that long...but on maps like Kubra, Zatar, and Dragon Valley...the m24 is a much better choice for those very long shots...

The M95 is a definate choice when either Iraqi or Chinese!

                              Re: Trick to the M95?

I'm actually a huge fan of the SVD and Chinese rifle, they are headshot machines... but, nothing else. Hell, I prefer them over both the M95 and the M24. (Especially the M95, I have no problem killing with that thing.. It's just that my brain cannot process the concept of a .50cal now putting down a victim in one hit.)

You have to wait, wait, wait, wait, and wait s'more before you even think about taking the shot. You won't miss, but a body shot is almost worthless with these rifles.

The thing that really draws me to them though is the follow up shot, and the ability to get myself out of some decently hairy situations that the m24 or M95 would leave me shafted in.

...just a hunch here. I wonder why EA didn't include some type of "Deviation" meter for the sniper rifles? I mean, if you're going to skip scope movement and breathing cycles, couldn't you at least opt to let a sniper know how accurate he should expect his shot to be based on his actions? Vs. leaving us to guess if we have waited long enough to take a shot...
