    Re: What is my problem?

Just a FYI, I have a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro with 128 Mb of RAM and I can play BF2 with all settings at HIGH (anisotropic filtering off) without any problems.
In other words 128 Mb videoRAM is enough to play the game, it is not the bottleneck.

Also I dont think the difference between AGP and PCI-e is large enough to make a difference. It is more a sales pitch for the moment than anything else, just as SATA 1 harddrives are no faster than ATE133 harddrives

If you compare your 754 to other similar 939 or p4 systems the main differnece would be dual channel. If RAM is able to send twice the data at the same time it will be faster.

        Re: What is my problem?

        Well here's "probably" the problem:

        MEMORY: (stats are from CPU-Z)
Stick 1: Nanya Tech 512mb PC3200(200 mhz) *possibly bad
        Stick 2: Nanya Tech 512mb PC3200(200 mhz)
        Stick 3: Bravo 512mb PC3200(200 mhz)

        1) With only Stick 1 in, pc blue screens out during bootup and reboots endlessly (i'm thinking bad memory on this stick).
        2) With only Stick 2 in, pc boots and memory frequency at 200mhz
        3) With only Stick 3 in, pc boots and memory frequency at 200mhz
        4) With Sticks 1 & 2 in, pc blue screens out during bootup.
        5) With Sticks 3 & 2 in, pc boots and memory frequency at 167.4mhz
        6) With Sticks 1, 2 & 3 in, pc boots and memory frequency at 100.5mhz .

So, I think I may have found my issue. With all 3 sticks in the machine I'm running at HALF my memory speed. With 2 and 3 i'm close (167.5) to max but i think there might be a incompatability issues with those two. With stick 2 i'm at the full 200mhz but I'm only running with 512m on my machine. Can't even boot to windows if stick 1 is in by itself or coupled with another stick. Bad Memory on Stick 1?

Also, Aquamark score with Sticks 3 & 2 (at 167mhz) was only a smudge behind the score with only the one stick running at 200mhz. So I'm going with 1g running at 167.5mhz.

Any thoughts on the subject or suggestions for my next memory purchase?
