I can't say for sure that it's due to lag but all too often my TKs are because that little blue name tag just hasn't shown up in a timely fashion. In the middle of a fire fight, it's nice to be able to tell friend from foe. Playing a USMC class is fairly easier because you can hear a close enemy speak in their language but playing MECH or Chinese with the English only option, you just can't tell sometimes whether or not the character next you is friend or foe because the blue tag is not immediately apparent. Processor time might be put to better use for hit detection if we didn't have to deal with the red name tags.

Should it be in the developers's mind.
I could stand for a baddly drawn character and it's f******ing TAG on him, than a refined draws and no TAG. That should resolve processor issues.

        I'm calm now...

Red tag's should be removed and make friendly one permanent (by option). How many times didn't I spot ennemy even though I wasn't looking at them, just pass with the scope and it will show up and bingo ...

Now THATS a smart solution if its not Tagged shoot away.

i think your teammates should always have their names or at least some kind of symbol above their head denoting that they are on your team. enemies would not have anything above their head when you look at them.

eh, didn't see the post 2 posts above mine...

Some kind of symbol would be good like a small blue dot, instead of having names all over your screen, then as you got within distance their name would appear

If you don't like the red tags above enemies, go play Joint Ops. In that game, you might NEVER find a decent sniper, in BF2 you just spam your q-spot in his general area until it spots him and then he's yours (I don't snipe so I like it better this way personally :P)

You know that "enemy on the move" is really annoying if you don't find him them first time. Bugs the hell out of me people spamming that button.

The red tags are ok. BUT the worst thing is...I was in a tank, got ambushed by ATs, so i reversed back fast and let off the tank smoke. There was no chance they could see me, but I got pounded by AT rockets seconds later...because the enemy just follow my red name through the smoke. Now that needs to be changed..becaue it makes smoke useless.

It’s cool to have the names above your teammates, so you can group up with your buddies.

But I don’t like the red name tags above the enemy for many of the reasons already given.

I would like to have the sites change to red when you target an enemy, and green when you target a friendly, like in MOH:AA

No offense, but this is one of the saddest things I've read about this game. People can't or won't spend the time and effort it takes to locate and hunt down a stealth operative like a sniper or spec. ops, so they want the stupid game to do it for them.

                          This is just ridiculous.

I think if a sniper is hidden - ie using cover and not moving - they should be hidden from radar - and from the red name tag. once they move (even side to side - cause we all know that looking side to side even makes your whole body move in the game) they are radar/scan bait for a few seconds.

The same should be true for anyone trying to be stealthy - slowly moving - hiding in shadows, etc.

I don't always count on the tags - I go by uniform. The red does not always show up - but the US, MEC, and China all have different uniforms. Get to know them and then you don't have to pet the sweaty stuff...errr....you know what I mean.

That might be a bit dificult to implement, but when proned or crouched when on foot, smoking when in armor, etc, then u shouldn't be detected by scans/ tagging. This is much easier to develop.
