anyways, it's name is the protecta. I knew that the whole time, it was found out in june or so, but the name died and everybody calls it the dao now. Anyways, i've been on that site tons, i've looked at tons of guns, note: if you look under the M24 discription, you'll find that he says middle west instead of middle east, so therefore, he obviously lives in the east. And since i know, hes a russian armorer.

hey. no problem this kind of stuff interests me to. and yeah thanks for the DAO post i always thought it was called the "streetsweeper" because someone in my clan calls it that. lol but if you wanna see something big than you should check out the m95 compared to a normal m16A2. that gun is massive.
have any of you seen the new XM-8 and the XM-29. those are some nice weapons. its even better in that when i get into the army or marine core those are the kind of weapons i will probably be using than.

Maybe the reason it is called the DAO-12 in the game is because of licensing rights. The DAO is the name of the trigger group, and the 12 probably stands for the twelve rounds it holds, which is probably why it has this name in the game and not 'Protecta'. Probably wouldn't look as cool on the text box when it says 'BillyBob [Protecta] CharlieChooChoo' anyways.

I had a friend that worked for the developers of Tactical Ops, he was a level designer, and used to talk to some of the other guys on the TO team, the only guns that they were really allowed to use the real name on were the Colt weapons and the AK47. The rest of them did not want their names to be used in what they considered to be a violent game, so they weren't given permission to use their names for the guns. That list included the Taurus Raging Bull and the Berreta company that I can recall, and a few others that I don't remember.

Although, shortly after the retail release of Tactical Ops, someone made a small mod that renamed all the weapons to their legitimate names, soon after it was built into the third party anticheat program that I did beta testing for lol.

yeah, your prbably right. but i read and it is also called the streetsweeper besides the protecta. kind of suits it ya know freakin mows down anything in its path. lol

I can't call it the Protecta because it sounds like the name of a rural home security company.

The files related to the AT unlock are actually called protecta; just the in-game name is DAO-12.

The real at shotty unlock is actually called the DAO as well. EA, put in 12 because it has a 12 inch barrel, and contrary to other beliefs, i would like it if they said xxx[protecta]xxx, that would be cool, protecta is so much cooler than DAO-12.
