    Like, oh my God!

You need to get a clue. What is the point of ranting about a server's permissions? The owner has the right to do as they please and considering it isn't cheap running a server, you need to shut the fcuk up or respect that server's rules.

most reasonable people appreciated it as a well-run, well-admined server. setting, and living up to, higher standards will always make you a target in life. so be it. :)
We had a similar COD server, except we didn't bother with rankings. We had to end it because it was continuously full and taking much more bandwidth than expected. To illuminate the opposite of what you are saying though, is that we allowed all forms of racial, ethnic and any kind of vulgarity. People loved it, obviously.

Once again: A server isn't a good server simply because of rules, sometimes a lack of rules makes it funner and better

(remember, it was a general comment, not a directed comment...do not retaliate)
And why would you "say something that would make me cringe" exactly? Something tells me that those words aren't as hollow as you would like to believe.

Thanks for helping prove my point.

I hear ya, which is exactly why servers are different and have different levels of popularity with certain demographic groups. ours as defined in my post, attracted mature, team-oriented players. :)

as far as ranking, CoD, per se, did not have rankings, but, our server was the 7th most traveled server in the world for quite some time. I think we hit 6th once, but that was for a short period of time.

            Cheers!

If children were playing this game, then I might understand about bad language being used. But its a grown up game for 15+. Its war and **** happens. So if its some grown-ups moaning on about the offence of bad words.......well they can go and **** em selfs and stop playing nasty war games when bad language is used.

Re: OMG, I just got kicked for saying a bad word!

This thread has been going WAY downhill from the start, swearing is not used in normal conversation unless you are farmilar with the person on a certain level and even then most people dont, only friends do. The same should apply to online. Whatever they say on TV or any other media shouldn't be bannable but you shouldn't swear unless something happens and you want to express your anger/frustration. Swearing for the sake of swearing is worthless for everyone. I understand some people grow up with it but it still should not be in normal conversation.

What values should I live by? Your's? GOD's? My own? I choose my own. If I need to live life being careful what I say. Then I want no part of it. I will do and say wtf I want when I want. If you don't like it that's not my problem. It's called (now read this very carefully) "FREEDOM OF SPEECH". Funny we think it's ok to make exception's.
lol, this ones a real good one! the majority of people have done drugs, killed, and raped? are you serious?

now onto your 2nd paragraph, wow, just wow. you don't need to be careful about what you say huh? let me drop you off in the the most minority populated city or part of a city in america and let you yell out racial slurs and whatever you want. lets see how long it takes for you to be crying for your mommy. i would almost guarrantee you won't be living that long. maybe you should also look up your little freedom fo speech quote. freedom of speech DOES NOT mean you can say what you want, when you want. when you get out of maybe in 6 years when you graduate, if you even do, you might be a little smarter.

Re: OMG, I just got kicked for saying a bad word!

family game filled with death, violence, killing, etc etc lmao

swearing bad - killing and war good..rrriiiiiight

i could care less about swearing - does not bother me in the least - especially since I curse like a sailor at times.

I do agree that the server is owned and operated by a group - they can do with it as they please (such as rules on swearing so to speak - as long as they are following the EA guidelines).

As for booting for idiot - nah - abuse of power.

I think to be fair - there should at least be a message at the server start that says no swearing (have seen this) - and there should be at least one warning before boot from server. The written word at server start can serve as the initial warning. I don't f***'ing care. :P I have been warned for language - message popped up - I shut my cakehole and instead just voiced my frustration over my own teamspeak server to the players on my server. Mine mine mine - I could curse - no problems with the little kiddies.

As for the parents letting children play this game - you allow this - they are in a game that is not rated PG-5. Screw you for yelling at me when you let your kids into these types of games.

Just because I take my kid into an R rated movie does not mean I need the theater to beep out the bad words.

People keep saying they don't want to see the swearing - ok - fine by me - but if there are no rules about it - free country, free speech, free foul language. Rather than bitch about it or try to change me - remove yourself from the offensive situation. Easy as that.

I think one thing people need to realize is that the net is vast - all sorts of people and freaks in the world. If you let your kids, or your naive self go out onto the web or net thinking you are in a safe, comfortable situation that you have complete control over - you are sadly mistaken. Too many people with too many views not to be expressed in manners that you do not approve of.

My advice - quit your bitchen - join a different server if there is language. If the server has rules - rules need to be followed. If you don't follow them - shame on you. I will make sure to laugh as you are kicked while I vocally curse the admin behind the lameass move. :P

What kind of image do you think you portray when you start cursing and throwing a temper tantrum?
"When you start cursing and throwing a temper tantrum" Really, was I throwing a temper tantrum? As far as I know, being confused is not the same as being aggravated. Normally, I would rarely ever swear and there is a very just reason for why I said "wtf?" in BF2 when somebody crashed a jet straight into a mountain while I was in it. Now, I would normally say "What the heck" or "What happened" but since BF2 is a fast-paced game, I simply said wtf? to save myself a lot of time and hopefully get an explanation sooner. Apparently I was wrong and I get kicked out for saying an abbreviation which I never would've expected to be on the kick list of swear words.

"Did you ever think that adults maybe don't feel like playing with a bunch of foul mouthed teenagers?" Yes, I did think about it, and I've come to an assumption that I am now more confused then before:
Sometimes, server's say that they don't like swearing because children like to play the game, while at the same time, saying that they don't want any childish behaviour... Now am I the only one seeing a conflict here? But hey, what do I know about the world of proffesionalism?

The people who run the server determine what is appropriate and what is not. On a broader scale the appropriateness of words is determined by social decency, and cultural influence. For example "F@g" is considered an insult in the US, where as in England it means "a cigarett". Another example is N*****, It is ok for Black people to use but not White people. The severity of that word varies on the situation.
