Pateched to 1.02 and you have all your chipset/Smart GART drivers all up to date?
What motherboard do you have?

gigabyte k8nf-9 mobo. patched, pb updates. im gona give the game a reinstall when im back from work.

64 multi player is much more demanding than single players with 16 bots.

I don't see what your sound card is ,maybe on board. I fixed my crash by updating to proper sound driver provided by mainboard manufacturer, not the newest from Realtek.

onboard sound, updated drivers. but it crashes in multiplayer, not single player. i used to play 64 person servers high high settings with 35+ fps alwayse, now its just dynamic shadows/lighting to med, the rest high.

the game joins, displays the battlefield for about 2 seconds, and then compleat lockup, and reboot. :|:

I get the same problem online plus major lagging.
and most servers i cant join, then pop up says
these servers cant run unmodified versions of BF2
restore to original version.
I've just installed it and my settings are on lo & medium.
PC specs-
AMD athlon 64 3500+
Ga K8N Ultra SLI Mobo
1Gb ram dual channel
Gigabyte 6600GT & a 512k/512k broadband connection.

Make sure you have disabled your firewall and maybe even antivirus software...it does seem it would most likely be your firewall.

snap on the problem and snap on the mobo ga-k8nf-9. ha dthis problem. went away with a pb update in july. came back with vengance yester day
