Re: broadband upgrade
Yup, I play on a 5MB, 384k up, and I have no problems. But the faster the upload time, the better the ping, and the faster the game can transmit the data (aka no lag). My ISP keeps bumping ours up as well, but I am mad that they continue to hold the upload speed down so low. I can upgrade to their "Extreme" package which is $30 more a month, but gives me 8MB down and 785k Up.Comment

Re: broadband upgrade
Correct, that is DOWN STREAM. His upstream should also be upgraded, in which case he may see a slight difference in gameplay. And ping is related to bandwidth, otherwise why doesn't a 56k get the same ping as me on the same server? I do realise that it also has to do with hardware, but it does relate to ping as well.Comment

Re: broadband upgrade
Increased throughput of data does not necessarily mean faster pings. It is possible that you may see improvements though.Comment
