A few people do, you need to have 250 hours total playing time and then play a round as PLA and one as MEC and you will have them.

yep, I got both the same night, right as I hit 250 hours. Not awarded in game either, they just show up in your BFHQ. Really kind of anti climatic, since all it required was time played.... but I guess that's what the ranking system is all about.

That stinks, it's always fun to see the ribbons pop up in game. Especially when you don't have many to get.

I keep earning basic badges over and over, probably due to some memory error or glitch. In respect to the medals, I don't think I will be seeing any of those popping up on my screen any time soon, for I don't play 24 hours a day.

Yeah, it showed up ingame when I got it. Perhaps you achieved the requirement at right at the end of the round?
