Wake Island RANKED map is out, download link

Since sep.11 the Wake Island RANKED map is out
there is currently only 1 ranked server but do to the fact that no one knows where to find the map to download its most of the time empty

its only 5.8mb with WinRar OR 7.1mb with WinZip, I tested it my self it works perfectly

i recomed the 1st link but just to be on the safe side i made a lycos page with the files lycos its slow trough (10kb/s) also i reziped for those that do not have winrar

INSTALLATION very easy

To install unzip/unrar Wake_Island.zip or Wake_Island.rar in your Battlefield2 folder. The zip file is structured to unzip the paths itself.

If you wish to verify the following files/folders should be unzipped/unrared:

/Battlefield2/mods/bf2/Levels/Wake_Island/ files >>> client.zip and server.zip
inside that folder has to be /Battlefield2/mods/bf2/Levels/Wake_Island/Info/ files >>> Wake_Island.desc and all pictures (5)



UPDATE!!!!
its not always online, and the server is not always RANKED, check periodicly... that is not the only server running wake-island ranked, you realy have to get lucky to find one, at the time i made this updaye there was non online

So, Wake Island remake is a "ranked" map? Why isn't this included or mentioned by EA/DICE...or is it?

Isn't it a TotalBF2 conversion map? I didn't know it was able to be played on ranked, considering how the ranking system works, I figured it would be a diff. setup.

I think I'll wait for the official release.

EDIT: Had a quick look at the contents of the .zip file, it's the Wake Island map found in the TotalBF2 map pack, not the official Wake Island 2007 from EA/DICE.

sorry but if EA released a new map.. it would be in a self installer. Not how you mentioned

I doubt its THAT official, the 2 most likely explanation i can think of:
1. They converted the bf1942 map he same way EA did and so the checksum matches when the game verifying that at loading
2. Someone snitched the file from EA

i did not try the pack, but i'm fairly sure it IS the same
what i would try if you find a ranked server try joining it ... it it tells you an error or goes back to windows then you know its not the same


i think its the same because the above server runs that entire pack in rotation but ITS ONLY ranked on that 1 map (but not every rotation)

How is it fake? It works great for me! Do you mean maybe not officially released by EA?.. then your right. But i assure you i did NOT modified the screenshots AND that’s not the only time i saw that NOR the only time I logged in to a ranked wake server

It’s just always empty that’s why I try to get the word out to have someone to play with

I downloaded the map with the map pack and set up a little server.....it is really cool and well done. You will instantly remember it.
