hang at logo screen

I am having some issues with getting BF2 to run properly.

I have uninstalled BF2 and reinstalled it properly. I installed the drivers that came with my laptop (dell i9300) and I run BF2. It runs fine... the first time. If I exit the game and try to run it again it hangs at the logo screen. It doesnt try and load or do anything, just sits. No freeze or crash, nothing.

If I uninstall my video drivers and use driver cleaner and then reinstall them I can then again start BF2 once. But only once, after it wont start anymore.

This is quite puzzling. Any suggestions? I am going to try cleanly installing some different driver sets and see if they help.

EDIT: It only seems to work with the default Dell drivers (which according to their site will work with bf2) and are version 77.24.

EDIT: Ok I'm now using the same dell drivers and I have to restart the computer everytime I want to run BF2.. kind of a pita, but workable until I can build a new Desktop rig... I'm still open to new ideas though.

Geforce Go6800 256mb ddr

have you tried deleting or renaming your BF2 profile?

Try the 78.11 beta drivers, they are modified Geforce Go drivers that were originally released by DELL, you can find a link to them in my sticky thread at the top of this forum
