Need help fast.

I just bought a new monitor today, a syncmaster913v. When I try to start up battlefield it starts up briefly,but doesnt fully go to the game,then an auto adjustment thing comes up, starts to run through and then shuts bf 2 down. Any syncmaste 913v owners plz tell me how to stop this auto adjustment thing.:cry:

Set your resolution to a supported one. You may have to force it via the shortcut. Do a search on "1280x1024" and you will find instructions on how to do this.

I'm stupid when it comes to computers I need more info how to do this.

In the forum screen, below and slightly left of "Welcom, Tony238" you'll see a "Search" button, Click on it and type "1280x1024" You'll find a load of information on how to force your game to that resolution. That should help you with your problem.

Didn't help. Still just got the dvd spinnig, brought the battlefield 2 image up, went black, and then crashed to desktop.

Your previous monitor has a refresh frequency that your new flat panel cant handle, search your computer for file named "video.con" and rename it, it should be stored under a profile directory and not in "program files"

sniperripper, if this were true, the screen would not work at all. It would simply say "unsupported mode".

the splash screen has a different resolution than the actual game screen..so briefly you can see the logo but once you go the login screen it switches to whatever the video settings on the video.con file, I tried this by setting up my video to 1920x1200, I will see the logo but then it crashes to desktop..my 2 cents.

Tony, I recommend you uninstall the game and make sure you check the boxes at the end to remove your ID's and files and such. After you uninstall the game check in "My Documents" and if there's a folder there named "BF2" then delete it. Restart you computer and reinstall the game. That should help.

Oh but i played 50+ hours to get where I am I don't wanna uninstall.:cry:

there is absolutely no need to reinstall the game if it work before and you just changing the monitor, by renaming the video.con file will cause the game to load with the default settings..
