BF2 keeps restarting my computer!

Whenever I join a server, it starts loading and then restarts my computer completely. It doesn't go to desktop. Everything turns off and it restarts.

This just happened a few days ago and I don't know of anything that I've changed. I've scanned for viruses.

Windows XP
Athlon 3000+
tons of RAM
6600 gt vid card
40 GB of free space

Any suggestions?

Overheating possibly. What are your CPU temps?

Your system is set to restart whenever there's a problem. If you turn that option off, you'd get a blue screen (not much more help usually).

Common causes:

1. overheating (trying improving circulation, like opening the case, aiming fans at it)
2. bad RAM (do a RAM scan with Memtest-86)
3. driver problems (update all drivers, even motherboard drivers)
4. hard drive problems (do a disk scan with the Windows hard drive scanner tool)

Do a virus scan too, just in case.

Right click my computer
Click on manage
Click on the plus next to event viewer
Click on system

On the right hand side, look for red/white X's with system error written next to it. Open it up and copy/paste the description here. Please also note the Event ID number. If there's more than one, check to see if they are the same error or different (should get a code number like 0x0000008E). If they are different, post the different ones here as well.

Maybe is ur power supply ?

For modern heavy computers u need 400w at least ...

I found out what the problem was. My nvidea firewall was on. As soon as I turned that off, my ping got better and I could play.

My CPU temp was saying 47 C, which sounded high but someone else said it was normal.

Do you have amd or intel cpu?

Doesn't matter, the NVidia firewall is motherboard based. And yes, 47ºC is fine.
