V-o-I-P, or not to be?

So, I can't get my VoIP (or push-to-talk) option selected.
This may sound weird, but if I check the box to make VoIP work and it seems to work fine and all, but if I go playing or to another menu and then come back the box is unchecked. Are there any possible means to make this not to happen and make VoIP work?
Where I might have screw'd up?

have you tried saving your changes before changing menus?

This same thing is happening to me !

Ive saved the changes yea, ive even done a fresh install only to find the same thing !

Yeah i had the same problem. EA support has a fix,

In windows: (Fix to the problem isn't in the game)
Open the start menu and click run
Type dxdiag
Go to tab Sound and turn the Hardware Acceleration Level down to Basic Acceleration...

It fixes the problem.

Also while we're on the theme of VOIP:

Microphones only work in the game if they're plugged into the primary microphone port.
Thats the one on the back of your computer (direct into the soundcard) - microphones won't work if they're plugged in the front of your computer.

Got that from the EA support site too.
