Over Clocking

Now I dont know much about over clocking etc, but I had somebody in my clan explain it step by step.

In the game people were saying overclocking makes your system not last as long? Is that correct? If so, is there an easy way to put it back to how it was before the over clock or is anybody willing to explain how to but it back step by step, if you need the info to contact me or to connect to ventrilo or my xfire to explain it, send my an email at semperfi@bobclan.org or my xfire is bobsemperfi :)

if you actually know what you are doing your system will be fine, its when you dont know what you are doing (i.e. just doing whatever someone tells you without understanding it and the concept behind it) that will cause problems with your computer.

This is true! Ive had my CPU for 2 1/2 yrs now, and no issues. Your main issue is heat and stability. Ive gone as high as 3.1 but the ram cant match at 1:1 you have to go to 5:4, which is just stupid. And the system becomes unstable. Run PRIME 95 when you overclock only do 5mhz at a time and let it sit like that for a day, run prime at night. Keep going till it becomes unstable. Try to avoid raising your VCORE, that is your killer for heat.

Not sure exctaly what your saying but it seems like your saying make sure your system does not over heat.

Here is what mine is right now.

Core slow down threshold 127 C
GPU core tempature 56 C
Ambient Tempature 39 C
Tempature Level 55 C
