G3 or L85A

Hey guys. Im on my way to my second unlock and cant decide between the G3 or L85.

Was wondering if everyone could tell me some pros and cons of each gun. Their experiences etc

Generally i play as spec ops/assault/sniper/medic. Depending on the map. Ive already tried the M95 with a different acount and seriously regretted it. So i make do with the standard sniper rifles.

Yeah, the M95 isn't all that great. I wish there were some weapon stats.

Yes it is, after unlocking it, i just CAN'T use the M24.

Its just as accurate, more powerful and can pierce glass, what more do you want??

The medic unlock was my first and it's the only one i regret. G3 is one of the hardest weapons to use bcoz u really can't afford to miss with 20 bullets in your clip.

I'd definately go with the G3, but then again if u like sniping and taking enemies out from a distance, go with the L85.

On the other hand i've been killed by the L85 so many times not even knowing where the shots came from, so i guess i just can't use it well (that's usually the case when someone complains about an unlock).

^^im agreeing with this guy.. there are already about 100 threads about "which gun should I unlock"... go read them.. All you are doing by posting this thread is ****ing off people..

Want my opinion? Go read it in one of the 100s of other threads about this very same topic.

The G3 and the L85A1 are both good weapons the G3 is a bit short on ammo with only having 20 rounds a clip but it does pack a serious punch and isn't bad at long ranges (its a nice weapon I'm actually really considering it for my 3rd unlock that or the PKM). The L85A1 rules mate its an awesome weapon if you can be bothered learning to use it properly you'll be unstoppable in most situations with it. Only problem with the L85A1 is the recoil when in full auto but if you learn how to adapt to the recoil you'll be unstoppable up close (its got a really fast rate of fire) And at a distance your near enough a sniper i pawn snipers with this weapon.

Me personally if i were you id go with the L85A1 before getting the G3 you can use the L85A1 on strike at kirkland and get some massive scores and get your next weapon faster. And when i mean massive i don't mean just with the paddles i get big scores on that map just acting as assault with the L85A1 (and self healing ). I can honestly get a 3:1 kill to death ratio on that map (without using armour) its just about using the strengths of the weapon and superior tactics to crush your enemies.

The only good thing about the l85a1 is that it's scoped, and you really need it to be, cause your not gonna do well with that weapon in close combat...

My advice is kill someone with the weapon and pick up their kit and try it. I have the G3 and I'm not peticularily happy with it. The M95 is nice if you have lots of time to practice with it. Otherwise its practically useless because of the bullet drop.

Here's something I haven't seen mentioned in "What do I unlock threads" before:

Join a squad with someone who has a weapon you're curious about. Cover his ass for a while as a medic or something, then using VOIP ask nicely if you can try his kit next time he get's waxed. This way, you get to try out weapons yourself instead of going off people's opinions on these forums.

The unlock hack works on the demo and you can install the demo along side the full version. So my advice is, download the demo use the unlock hack, and then try all the guns as much as you like. Try shooting them up against walls, and then go examine the spread. Shoot up a few bots and see how many hits it takes at different ranges.

You can also take a look at this chart to get some comparison of damage accuracy etc. One of the things you will notice is that it the l85a does a little more damage than the m16 (32 vs. 30), but has a lower rate of fire and is *much* less acurate.
