Hardcore X Universe player here and drooling over X3 :p, played them all right from Elite/X: BTF up to current.
Currently playing X2 still with some custom scripts/mods, some of them my own and am building up a fleet to invade khaak space.
You can find me on the Egosoft forums under this same name, usually in for Scripting/modding forum. :) -

Not the biggest fan base but some of the most determined out there. It has a completely open game play A.I. that you can develope. But one rule it takes a lot of time to play.Comment

I liked the mouse flight control, vary easy to learn. It's been awhile since I played it and never played online. Once you got the best ship and best weapons that was the end, though I tried to get an alien ship it just did not happen. The alien weapons ruled all....
But the play in X2 is no way limited, you can own the universe though I think it would take awhile to do, kinda like the ranks in BF2.Comment
