It's a shame too because it's a really good idea! Oh and to the person above me, you can't go 'rambo' with the crate (I'm not even sure what you mean) because it only takes one M203 or a frag nade to take out the box.

bad idea.
nobody will use it. bf2 is too fast paced for this.
supply crates are rare. the commander uses them mostly for repairing his assets.

its eaiser to find a dead soldier's kit and pick it up, or choose the the right kit before you spawn.

Could work I guess, but I voted no because supply crates already do too much.. like healing vehicles all by itself, for example.

Supply Crates are being fixed in 1.03. So soon they will only do "so" much

It's not a bad idea. It makes no sense you can't change kits unless you find one from a dead player. They should be at your base.

I'd rather they fix the damn supply crates repair command assets bug though.

Honestly, this idea does make a little sense to me. I mean, you see a supply crate loaded with explosives, ammo, and probably a few weapons, and all you do is pick up what you've used up so far. Would make sense to do other things, like grab C4 instead of grenades, or trade in your sniper rifle for something suited for closer ranges.

But there's where the problem arises. I wouldn't go for it because one person would be whoring the supply crate and doing nothing but go Rambo-style on anyone trying to approach who isn't wearing the same uniform. If we changed it around, like say, you could only change your gear once every life, then it'd make better sense and avoid somebody going Rambo.

Would be nice to pick and choose what gear you want and what you don't want. Got a yes vote from me if that's the direction you're heading.

Kit Swap Timer, just liek a reload timer. Making you only swap between available kits, not weapons/etc. You can either do you regular healing/reloading, or switch your kit. Simple, and supply crates blow up with one grenade. It could work.

Yeah it does have Joint Operations written all over it but not a bad idea! Then another good idea would be to customise your character appearance ala Soldner (Yes it is a crap game but had some good ideas). I'm not talking about walking around in parachute pants but to be able to choose skin colour, personal graffiti for helmet designs, voice and build; that'd be awesome!

I've thought about this previously...was originally thinking you could do it with Humvees but I think I like the supply crate too. You'd have a spike in supply crate requests though for the commander .

Would give more "Strategy" to supply placement after its nerfed.

Would be a really good thing to put in but the only problem I see is that when changing kits it has to recalculate your ammo or you would be refilled fully in a shorter ammount of time. Other then that would be great, no different then dead bodys execpt makes the commander have more duties and gives infantry a chance to know what they are getting ammo/unlock wise. If this was mentioned earlyer sorry but im just to damn lazy to read threw 3 pages.
