First Map ever not loading ... just crashes.

    Alright
I made a map following this tutorial http://www.planetbattlefield.com/bf2...creatinglevel/

    It is China Vs US
    512
I packaged the map and mod itself.
    Shows up in map list.
I dont know anything about adding info, loading map images, music...

Everytime I load up the map in My mod the game will crash at around 16% (not always 16% but never far off)

I did not know how to deal with water but I added what I think is working water if I could see it ingame.

Tried to add a road coundn't figure it out so I stopped

I get this in red text when i save the map
Ignored Warning[Overgrowth] : Overgrowth atlas generation failed
    Ignored Warning[TextureAtlas] : Couldn't open TAI file "levels\battle_of_mogadishu_airport\editor\tmp\Ove rgrowthAtlas.tai"
Ignored Warning[Overgrowth] : Overgrowth atlas generation failed
    Ignored Warning[TextureAtlas] : Couldn't open TAI file "levels\battle_of_mogadishu_airport\overgrowth\Ove rgrowthAtlas.tai"

any more details I think of I'll post
    thanks
    Mark

Did you use the mod option to make a map? If so you shouldn't have.

Your map needs to be in the levels directory not the BF2 directory where you put mods

I made it in my mods (bf2\mods\battle_of_mogadishu) like the tutorial said and saved it to my levels.... well it saves there by defasult. I can find it there right now.

Are you saying I should make my maps in bf2? How would I get it into my mod though or use custom objects or textures or etc...?

Move your map folder to this directory "Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\levels\"
That is where it says to put it in that tutorial also.

          Then it should work

alright... That tutorial is also for making a map in the orginal Bf2 mod folder. I even put it in there tried it both on my mod (after repacking, deleting older new map) and still could not play it in Bf2 and My mod for bf2.

How would putting it in the orginal bf2 levels folder help it was a map for a mod? I have moded skins, and light do-dads and such but I cant get this damn map to work.

Hmm probly can't help then - all I have made were maps with no custom stuff added and no mods sorry.

              Anyone else help?

ok... at your bf2 shortcut click on it... press properties... then change +fullscreen 1 to +fullscreen 0

try to load your map again... you see what files are missing... copy them from another map to your map folder...

your map should work now :P

I hope this solves your problem

                - ooh btw... I think this would only work for "normal bf2" not your own mod... but you could try

From the looks of it the error is being caused by the overgrowth. I assume that you clicked to save overgrowth but you havent placed any overgrowth yet?

If thats the case delete (make backups first.. just incase) the overgrowth folder and overgrowth related files and then try. You could do that or either do some overgrowth on the map and re-save it and then try.

Might work, might not.... youve got a mod map so meh...
