any of you try this?

To rename your soldier, which the game by default does not allow you to do, you must edit the "\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0001\Profile.con" file and change the first value, in the quotes, to whatever you wish your soldier's name to be. For example, change:

LocalProfile.setName "defaultPlayer"
to

LocalProfile.setName "[your new name]"

Just gonna have 2 logins

1: my ranked account
2: my unranked account for clan matches


would be nice to be able to change my name for the ranked account, but meh, used Carwash for 6 years online and im not arsed about having my clan tag infront of it

Those lines do work in SP, just not online.

Trust me, there is NO way to change your name, and there's a few hundred threads confirming this!

Simply wait for a couple of weeks and you will find that the new patch is dealing with it. At least that is what I have read.

yeah of course it only works in single player which renders it useless seeing as you can change your single player name in game anyway.
