I had that problem with my old Audigy 2 card. I bought the ZS and it went away. I would get crackling in all Battlefield Games: Vietnam and BF2. I think it's a driver issue. There's alot of fixes out there, but none worked for me. Type "Audigy Crackling" into the Search bar and you'll find a million different ways to fix it. Good Luck.

you pci latency might be too might. download pci latency tool from the link below and set your agp latency to 64. might want to set pci latency to 64 in bios as well. most likely your vid card is hogging up all the resources from the pci bus. teach it to share.

Don't forget to grab the Creative beta drivers for the Audigy 2 series of cards that fixes certian issues in BF2.
