Hi,

I upgraded my system and would like to know, if im getting the performance i should.

1280x1024
All gfx settings high
2xAA , 8xAF

On 64 player server fps vary from 90 to 45, average somewhere bethween 60-70..

AMD64 Venice 3500+ @ 2.7 (9x300)
DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D
Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 (9x225)
Gainward 7800GTX (490/1300)

Yeah those are pretty good FPS's. You could probably max the AA and AF and still get good fps.

On a more serious note, with a 7800 GTX you shouldn't be playing on anything less than 1600 x 1200. At lower resolutions it's very little different to the much cheaper 7800GT or even the 6800 GT/GTX.

Nice card, but you're not using it to it's best.

why? if he can afford to play a lower RES with full AA/AF whats the problem?

I personally dont like playing games in 1600x1200, not because my rig cant handle it, it just doesnt feel right to me, i cant really explain it. i had a 21" CRT with a 1600x1200 res but had to return it as i couldnt play games in that res, i played like ****, went back to CRT and it was fine

The reason im not playing on 1600x1200, is because my Viewsonic VP191b tft monitor can't handle that resolution..

your cpu is a serious bottleneck pal, you should use more AA , you're fps won't drop because this is only vid card work and your vid card can handle this without probs.

The only cpu at this moment for the 7800GTX is the FX 55 or higher

The game just isnt stable enough yet to get a steady FPS.

1280x1040 AAx8 AFx16 TA-Supersampling ...and i can get 100FPS but not steady, its jumping down to 30's depending on map and location, but regular dips every 10-30 seconds.

I'm waiting for 1.03 in hope otherwise i'll go back to cod (2).

Sorry bro but you're mistaken. There's no difference whatsoever in performance throughout the WHOLE range of A64 CPU's

Yeah but the FX are better for gaming as you can OC safely.

And those video settings are too tame to be a proper test.

Yeah the processor is fine. I would personally bump up the resolution to 1280x960 or 1280x1024

the CPU makes very little difference as long as its reasonable and can keep up with it in fact i'd say your'd be hard pushed too see any difference in bf2 playing with a 2ghz cpu or a 3ghz cpu if both rigs are running that card.

If I can play it great on my Sempron @ 2.4 Ghz and 800XL he should be ten times better.
