Switched from CRT to LCD... Help!

The game will run on my 17' Dell CRT but when I switched to a 17' NEC (LCD1735NXM) the game won't even open. I double click on the BF2 icon, and the screen goes black for about 5-10 sec then closes to desktop. Anyone know why this happens? System specs: P4 3.0 w/ HT, 2GB PC3200 RAM, ATi x700 PRO 256MB AGP. Thanks.

You have it hooked up right? Hook it up to the VGA slot not the secondary monitor.

yah, it's hooked up right. Set on primary. It'll show the bf2 logo then stop. CRT is fine though.

What is the Max res. your LCD can support? If it's less than what you have set in-game you need to set the res. lower. Paste this : +szx 1024 +szy 768 once you right click -> click properties -> paste at the end of the target field.

It's because the game has to run in your LCD's native resolution, which is most likely 1280x1024. Therefore you'll probably have to force the game to start at that resolution by doing what BF42MilkMan said but substitute 1024 for 1280 and 768 for 1024.

Mine runs at 1280x1024. BF2 only goes up tp 1280x960.

Go to the BF2.exe file and ammend it's parameters to read exactly as it is below to run in your native monitor resolution:

"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

Yeah, mine too. Mine works fine at 1280x960, but if it didn't you can force it to run at 1280x1024 by putting it into the target field under the shortcuts properties.

Mine is forced at 1280x1024 but BF2 wont start.

I'd delete your video profile from the BF2 folder in My Documents. This may help you get to the setup screen atleast. Then you can set everything there.

Ok, so first off, open BF2 w/ the CRT. Then go to options--> video--> and adjust the resolution? Or, adjust the resolution at the desktop?

Hell yeah, you still got the old CRT. Go ahead and go to BF2 settings and make the resolution 1280x960x60hz or whatever your LCD's native is.

CRT eocks doesn't it!?! Anyways heres the specs on the monitor:

So at what Hz do I set it to? 85Hz?

I'm gone in 5 min. otherwise I'd ask the model number and google to find the Hz. I'd try 60 and then 70 if 60 doesn't work. Those are the most common. Mine is 1280x1024x60 and I run 1280x960@60 ingame. I hope it works for ya.
