    Re: dell 6800gt?

try searching the dell support forums. Only available throught the US website.

if i remember rightly dell used their own type, the 6800GTO, altho they might have shipped GT's at some point.

I am alomst positive its not a bfg, cause mine looks nothing like the bfg 6800gt, and also there is no graphic on it so there is no brand name on it

Why would you ever buy a Dell anyway, they are just a whitebox with a pretty shell.....The company has never (NEVER) engineered anything of use to the technology industry. If you want a whitebox build your own, it will be better, cheaper, and you will be the same crappy support you would from Mikey's company (ergo none). My guess is that you can't narrow down a specific card MFG since they buy which ever is cheaper today and throw whatever it is in the box.

-this is just my opinion, I could be wrong......but I doubt it.

putting together your own compie beats any company (dell, alienware, whateva) anytime anywhere.

              Re: dell 6800gt?

finacing through Dell is easy thats why I havent built my own, saving money is a bitch, so its much easier to just send Dell 50 bucks a month and pay it all off on tax time.

Plus I have no idea about how to go about getting a good one built or what the stuff even means.
BTW I have the PC you have Charley cept I only have 1gig.

Why would you EVER buy, let alone finance, a "gaming" PC from Dell? Save your money up and you'll be much happier once that tax return arrives. At least then you could build your own.

                  Re: dell 6800gt?

Apparently some people aren't listening... He doesn't want to run the risk of building his own when he could just order from Dell and have peace of mind, which makes sense

There is nothing wrong with Dell PC's, they are rock solid, and are good for what they are designed for. Heck, even their gaming PC's give good performance for their designed purpose.

No, sure, you can ALWAYS build a better PC for the same price as any givin' OEM system, but, not everyone knows how to build their own; nor' does everyone want to build their own (If ya' go with Abit, DFI, or even Asus MB's you could have some headaches in front of you that the typicall builder would shrug at, but a novice would lose all hope). To be honest, if I had 10k to blow on a MachV, I would do so versus building my own... But, I don't really wanna' waste that much money on a computer. So, I opt for the cheaper route... and the free customer service I supply to myself.
