I predict FLAME FEST! Anyway just get 1050 points to unlock weapons. Also you have to SEARCH the fourms to unlock them.

        Re: unlock weapons

I'll answer you before the forum search police pull you over and rape you.

Play the game on ranked servers and gain enough points to reach new ranks.
You get one unlock for each new rank achieved after your second promotion.

To find out what points are needed for each rank - SEARCH. :p

          Re: unlock weapons

Welcome to the forum. This forum, as well as many others dedicated to Battlefield 2, has been up and running for so time. Most questions can be answered by using the search tab at the top of this window or the similar threads section at the bottom. That said, you unlock weapons as you gain experience and rank. You should unlock the weapon of the class unit you enjoy playing the most. I have observed that all the weapons are reasonably balanced for the game and not necessarily realistic in terms of their effectiveness.

You'll find further information about unlocks when you search this forum for more information. Good luck and I hope I shoot you before you shoot me :)

            Re: unlock weapons

G36C: Great accuracy, very low recoil. Extremly accurate in single shot, and has a very tight spread in full auto. Same Dmg as the USMC and PLA guns, and general improvement over all Spec ops gun.

M95: Armor piercing bullets, capable of piercing body armor and armored glass. Has the inclusion of bullet drop bullet drop making it seem inaccurate to those who dont know how to use it, but is still capable of hitting targets just as far and accuratly as the M24.

G3: High powered rifle with 20 round magazine. Is just slightly more powerful and accurate than the AK's(takes one less shot to the chest), but lacks a grenade launcher and has only 20 rounds per magazine, so its hardly an improvement over the AK's. But is still very effective at close range, and is very accurate, just have to cope with not having the noob tube.

Jackhammer: Full auto shotgun. Inbetween the Saiga 12 and the USMC and PLA shotguns. Does 15 dmg per pellet, so is more powerful then the Saiga 12, and dominates CQC in full auto, but runs out of ammo very quickly and has long reload time.

PKM: Lower ROF than the other support guns, but does the same dmg as the SVD per shot. Great for moving down multiple enemies at medium range, but is slightly less effective at close range due to its slow ROF.

L85: Excellent scope, very accurate single shot. Is very inaccurate in fullauto, and full auto should only be used in CQC. Slightly less effective than the other medic guns in CQC, but very good mid range sniping. If your a medic who likes to stay a bit back from the fighting, this is a good unlock for that.

Dao 12: Quite possible the best CQC weapon in the game. 12 rounds per magazine, and very high ROF, a great improvement over the standard sub machine guns for close range, but is only good for CQC, so you have to rely on your pistol for mid/long range.

Thats my break down of the unlocks and there pros. I have the M95 and the G36C, and love both.

Not true. Maybe bullet-drop exists, but the M95 really is less acurate. It has the same deviation as the semi-auto rifles.

The G3 is actually a little less acurate than the AK's in one shot mode, but significantly more acurate in full auto, or if you are bursting. That means it is quite a bit more lethal at close-medium range, but less lethal beyond medium range. Big advantage over the US weapons is that you can get a one shot kill to the head.

                  .
Heres 2 videos i made that show bullet drop, first is normal speed, second is the same video, but the shot has been slowed. The target is at first meters, and i almost had to use the first bar below the crosshair(the first bar is for 500 meters).

                  Here is normal speed.

                  Here is slow motion.

And the M95 is perfectly capable at hitting targets consistently at up to 700 meters (as I have tested on kubra dam) with the correct judgement of the bullet drop. The fact is at that range you can hardly even see your target, and yet the M95 can consistently hit the person over and over again. The deviation to me is meaningless and I cant notice it at all, as you can consistently hit targets right up to your max FOV. So in otherwords the deviation is meaningless. You just have to know how to use the M95 to be succeful with it.

At any range past 200m the bullet drop comes into effect, and thats the reason why most people think the rifle is inaccurate at long range, because they always line the target up in the center of the crosshair, and end up missing at that range due to the drop. If you know how the drop works you can hit any target you can see right up to your max FOV.

                    Re: unlock weapons

I've seen the video before. It really doesn't prove much because deviation might account for hiting your target even though you aimed above. You really need to make that shot the same way every shot in a long sequence of shots.

One reason why I am so skeptical about the M95 having more bullet drop than the other rifles is that in reality it has a much flatter trajectory than any other rifle. Sure maybe DICE messed up this detail as well but I want to see more evidence before I believe it. Might test it out myself if I have time.

                      Re: unlock weapons

If there is any bullet drop I'm pretty sure it's the same for all handheld weapons since none of them have a gravityModifier specified so it would have to be a single default value. (Some of the other weapon parameters take default values if they aren't specified in the weapon's .tweak file.)

                          Nice, simple, direct, and short.
I have the PKM and M95 so far, I like em both but they are additions to my arsenal and not replacements. In certain situations the I prefer to use the basic weapons.
Additionally the M95 is slightly less accurate, the M24 has .01 deviation vs the M95's .02.
