My favorite BF2 moment (aka why I live to play this game)

For me, it's the feeling I get when I spot a hapless soul sitting fat, dumb and happy while I peer through the scope of my M24. With the press of a button on my mouse, I change my setting from 1200 dpi to 400 dpi, carefully put his head on the center of my crosshairs, and BLAMO! One shot, one kill. Doesn't happen a lot, and it takes patience, but the feeling is the greatest high I get while playing this game. Must be something in my nature that enjoys this sort of thing more than anything else in BF2. I'm still 5000 points from unlocking the M95, but when I do, I won't be wistfully watching enemy copters hovering near me and not being able to do anything about it. Can't wait.

I play for those incredible runs. For me, they happen very infrequently.

Just two days ago we are flying into the back base for the MEC on a blackhawk. I am manning one of the chain guns. I see two guys run across the field, mow them both down with ease.

I see one guy run out of my shooting area so I scream to the pilot to rotate right. He does and I get that guy. At that moment, I see two guys down for our team. I jump down and, being a medic, I revive them. WHile reviving the guy, I get a neutralize assist point.

I see two enemies running around a building. Run after them and take one down, but, retardly, emptying my clip in the process. The other guy comes back and so I whip out my pistol and take him down. . . only two bars of health left. Being a medic, I drop myself a med pack, run back around to the flag and get a capture assist point.

The helicopter is low enough, I jump back in and we fly off. As we were flying away, I felt so satisfied. It was 16 points in less than 30 seconds and the timing of being able to get the kills, the revives AND the capture assists just worked out so well.

However, I got super cocky after that and went rambo style into the next base and got mowed down. All's well that ends well. . . I guess. Back to suckiness. :)

All the "awesome" moments like taking out 4 guys in 5 seconds with the saw or going crazy and running at ppl with the knife and actually killing them.

Best two moments in bf2 so far came in the same round. I joined a squad with 4 clan members in it. I figured they all belonged to the same clan so they should have their **** together for some good teamwork.

Moment 1: I spawn a little behind the SL just in time to watch him drop a grenade at his own feet, go prone on top of it, open up with his support gun, and then fly into the air as the grenade went off. Nearly snorted beer all over my keyboard.

Moment 2: We are in a humvee heading for the hill flag on Karkand when our commander calls in arty right on the flag. When the humvee gets close to the flag I bail and move to a safe distance. The rest of my sqaud takes up positions all around the flag. I VOIP that arty is comming. I type that arty is comming. I watch them all fly up in the air when the arty comes.

Playing with those guys was like watching an old "Keystone Cops" movie.

DPI = Dots Per Inch The lower the number, the more you move your mouse to make the cursor move. For example, when I have it set on 1200 DPI, a small movement with my mouse makes for greater movement on screen. Handy for when I'm slewing the turret around on a tank or need to look around quickly. On the other hand, a 400 DPI setting enables me to get very precise with my crosshairs while sniping. The beauty of my MX 518 mouse is that I can change this setting by merely hitting one of the buttons on my mouse. Once you have it, you wonder how you got along without it.

                    Greetings

My favourite moment is taking down a cobra/blackhawk in a tank, I do it quite a bit but I still love to see them kills fly up the screen.

                        Glcm,
                        In response to this statement:
"I'm still 5000 points from unlocking the M95, but when I do, I won't be wistfully watching enemy copters hovering near me and not being able to do anything about it. Can't wait."

I unlocked the M95 and have shot a few people out of hovering helos and oncoming light transport vehicles. However, I have found that the direct accuracy of this gun is lacking, for when I engage a target inside a helo, I usually expell 3 shots or so befoer I get the kill (and that is if I am close to the chopper and going for a headshot). It seems as though the accuracy of this weapon at longer distances deminishes dramatically and cockpit kills rely heavily on headshots, due primarily to the massive bullet drop found at distances beyond 150m. It is also close to impossible to lead your shots while targeting a pilot or gunner in a moving helo, as you have to compensate for increased bullet drop as you aim above the horizon.

I unlocked this weapon as my second unlock in the hope that helo pilots and drivers of medium and light vehicles would be easy pickings but have found that I have to work hard for these kills and 3/4th of the time the vehicle escapes with driver in tact. Perhaps my aim is to blame, for my hand is not the steadiest and I still haven't gotten used to compensating for bullet drop, but in my opinion the m95 is a gun that will get you very few kills (I average only about 30 or so with the m95 a round).

If you like playing city maps such as Karkand and want to rack up the kills, choose the DAO (anti-tank unlock), for it will prove invaluable in mowing down enemies in close quarters.

The very day I logged into the game for the first time I was clueless and was gettting owned really badly.

So I turned to past FPS experience and did what any sensible noob would do. I hopped in a Hodgi Van and began running the enemy over one after the other while laughing uncontrolably.

That never ceased to be fun until people got good at dodging vehicles and expecting you to do that.

i like it when ur like 400m away and u shoot someone with a sniper rifle and theyre like puzzled and confused and doing all kinds of strafing techniques and i just lay another round into him. he doesnt even kno what hit him :)
