This is kinda usless but would be cool imo, me being obsessed with stats and crap. I've made some genius long distance kills and seen some guys make rediculas shots!! i'm just curious to how far these shots actually are like in metres.

Re: Snipe distance
correct!Originally posted by a1pointguardNot that far compared to real-life snipers.
It's alot harder to decide distances inside the game, but my guess is maybe 200-300m tops. A normal rl sniper should make hits at 500-1000m (ie. AW L96A1, M24 etc.). I've seen fellow ranger snipers shooting at balloons, condoms and such stuff from faaaar away and still hit.Comment

Re: Snipe distance
lol i had 6 kills the other night from a hilltop in op clean sweep 500meters out, most one shot kills and they werent just staying still, they were trying to avoid my sniper fire. You just have to know how much to compensate for bullet drop (yes, there is bullet drop).Comment

Re: Snipe distance
Yes there definately is bullet drop. lets be 100% clear on that!! One time on clean sweep i was sniping from around 250meters and was having to compensate nearly 1cm(on sceen) above someones head to get one shot kills!!!!(M24)Originally posted by regal7788You just have to know how much to compensate for bullet drop (yes, there is bullet drop).Comment

Re: Snipe distance
no bullet drop. random deviation. heres little test. everytime you would compensate for bullet drop, aim to the left of the target instead of above the target. guarantee you you will get the same hit ratio.
i call ********. in this game you cant even see 500meters w/ draw distance at 100%.Originally posted by regal7788lol i had 6 kills the other night from a hilltop in op clean sweep 500meters out, most one shot kills and they werent just staying still, they were trying to avoid my sniper fire. Re: Snipe distance
ok so do the hash marks on the crosshair mark meters? i.e. the first one down would be 100 meters out? Not sure what the interval would be but it would be nice to know.Comment

in real life, possibly. in the game they are just annoying eye candy.Originally posted by Agent-X{TRIAD}ok so do the hash marks on the crosshair mark meters? i.e. the first one down would be 100 meters out? Not sure what the interval would be but it would be nice to know.Comment

Re: Snipe distance
Around 510 meters is the max draw distance for characters. To mesure long shots, have the person stand/prone by a flag pole, and you go off into the distance until they just start to disapear. And yes bullet drop is very real, be it a bug, or an actual ingame feature, its strongly there with the M95, and to a lesser extent the M24.Comment

Re: Snipe distance
Which is insane in my point of view...
The M24 (irl) has an effective maximum range of about 800m (the same as Type-88, SVD has approx. 600m), while the M95 has an maximum range of 1800m. Although it's extremely unusual to shoot at that far distances because of deviations like wind, temperature, ammunition etc.
But then again, this game isn't meant to be like irl. Still though i think they should keep the rifles compared to eachother like irl. The M95 totally owns both SVD, M24 and the Type-88 when it comes to damage and accuracy. Overall i would say that the SVD is the worst rifle among the rest with a design from early 60's. I love the rifle though, great looking design!
This is why i find it funny that the M24 has better precision than the M24, i wonder how they came up with that idea? My best guess is that they didn't want the game to get unbalanced...
*EDIT*
Which reminds me of similar discussions about BFV, like the machinegun comparisons...Comment
