if you just picked up the l85 and used it a bunch of times, PLEASE don't reply. i want to read replies from those who unlocked it.

I've unlocked it. It has its ups and downs. Its what Dice intended to make. Not a better weapon, but an alternate.

Pro: Sights
Con: Bad accuracy. Unless you shoot single shot with sights, you're not gona kill the target 70% of the time.

All weapons have their negatives.

ya i need tips on that gun, i mean i get owned with that british weapon but i can never seem to get a shot off.

Find an unranked server with all weapons unlocked, that has people in it, and join it. Test it out. Also test out the g3. Im loving the g3, its only for people who like to aim, not for spray and pray people.

I have unlocked the gun, I very rarely use any other class now. The scope is the best in the game, the accuracy is great. I love engaging snipers in snipe battles and I win 99% of the time. The reason being - you hit them= damage, they hit you and you heal your self ( just drop several medic packs and lie on them). - use single shot only.

is it an UPGRADE or DOWNGRADE? let's say you're trying to revive someone and an enemy sneaks around the corner... what are the chances of the l85 killing him?

It's the kind of gun that you can't use to rush in and expect a bunch of kills. You should be sitting back and sniping with it. The problem with that is, while you're sitting at the back, your teammates at the front are getting killed and you need to revive them.

Plenty of debate on these forums about this one. If you know the gun's limitations, don't try and be Rambo with it, you'll fall in love with it!

The only problem with it is it's poor accuracy on full-auto-hold-down-the-trigger mode. This is only good at face to face encounters.

The 2x scope is fantastic, the accuracy on single shot, or two shot bursts is great.
What you'll need top do to be effective with this weapon is hold back, and try to keep some range between you and your enemies.

With the AK's you can rush into spawn points with guns blazing. With the L85 it's much better to hang back a bit, and cover the area from a good vantage point while the other squaddies take the flag. Enemies will shoot at them, giving away their position and allowing you to pick them off. Keep close enough so that you can rush in for revives if needed - you are supposed to be their medic!

Edit: When I started writing this, no one had posted a reply yet... Now that I see the rest of your unlocks, I'd say that if you are more of an offensive player, the DAO-12 is great. If you'd prefer to become a bit more defensive (sniping), the L85 is certainly the way to go.

i was imagining karkand... being a rambo medic and killing everyone who stands between me and the guy i want to revive... :/

i don't think i'll have a problem with that 'cos i used the pkm from corporal to staff sergeant but am now getting bored with it...

Its the only gun I use these days, recoil can be a bit of a bitch. But as noted before prone, looking through the sights it is an awesome gun. Added bonus of being able to heal yourself and others. With a few of these in a good squad we've racked up plenty of kills / points.

The medic gun was the first gun that i unlocked because the USA's Medic gun did not have full auto.

After i unlocked it i used it alot, but after a while i thought it got boring so i used the regular medic gun
