System Requirements Listed on Box?

Hi all,

I hope you guys can clarify something for me. I'm having a discussion with someone; he's upset because BF2 won't run on his Dell with integrated video, I say it's his fault because the requirements are listed on the box of all PC games. He's telling me that BF2 is in fact the only PC game in history that doesn't list the requirements on the box somewhere.

Can someone pls. answer this for me? A link to a pic of the box showing the min. requirements panel would be really nice.

ps. I don't have the game yet because I'm saving to upgrade my system first . . .

I know for a fact the requirements ARE on the box, or one one of the stickers that came on the box. I remember one of the players here showing off pics of one of the first copies of bf2 sold (sent to only certain people). One of them showed reqs.

I'm pretty sure they come in the readme for the demo too.

I'm sorry, but anyone buying a low end PC with an integrated gfx card and expecting to play almost any of the current PC games out there today needs to be locked far, far away from a PC... also away from any sharp objects where they may hurt themselves.

Walk into an EBGames (or local equivalent). Pick a random game off the shelf, you can be over 90% certain that game will either a) not run at all on a system with an IGP. or b) be absolutely sure that if it does run, even at lowest settings the framrates will remind you of your granparents vacation slideshows.

yeah one of the biggest things about bf2 is the graphics cards..and if u were to buy it...i think you wouldve heard about it...btw why cant he just buy a new video card

The System Requirements are on the sticker that keeps the box from opening. In order to open the box, you have to either remove the sticker or cut it.

Problem with most of the big manfacturers systems is if they have an IGP then they don't include an AGP or PCIe slot. Yes, you can put in a PCI card but don't expect a heck of a lot of performance. Should be able to pick up an FX5200 for around $50 bucks or so that will fit in a PCI slot.

Will at least let him run it though I'd hate think about the detail levels/framerates he would get. :laugh:

was going to take a picture of the box for ya, but i cant get a good pic with my digi cam for some reason. That'll teach me to **** about with the settings.

In the UK the specs are on the back of the box, EA have a "standard" way of showing specs for ALL their games.

Your friend, is a moron if he thinks a publisher isnt going to put spec requirements on a game, specially one this demanding

Sorry rls669, but unless you have some money to upgrade, you have no chance to run this game.

Today, any game would run if you have atleast 512mb of RAM, atleast a 2.6 or higher CPU (Just saying you have a Pentium 4 doesnt mean anything) and a Video card that costs you atleast $140 (9600, 9800, 5700, 6200, x400)

So just return if possible, or sell it on Amazon or eBay.

yeah the box says nvidia GF FX5700 or higher

ATI Radeon 8500 or greater

I've got the PCCD case for BF2, and it does NOT show system requirements on it..

My fiasco was believing the specs on the EA website before this game was out in stores.
So I got it pre-ordered from Amazon. When I got the F'R I was apalled to see the HIGH end req's for it. The N-vidia card I had planned to use was nowhere near going to be able to play it.
So waiting for fundage I got an ATI x700 Pro in July (FINALLY)and upped my RAM to 1 GB. The game plays fine on my comp (Dell dmsn 4500) Pent 4- 2.45 g and on high I might add. Just you have to shut practically all yer non essential app's down.

Nvidia card was returned...but it WOULD have helped to know how bad this game kills your PC! :laugh: Glad to say I play every night.

Read the other posts ... there were on the sticker sealing the box. Unles you live in the UK then they ARE on the back of the box
