I was a mouse/keyboard pilot for about 2 months beore I went out and bought a Logitech Extreme 3d Pro. Unlike other games, the best pilot in this game ARE the ones using the joysticks. You can easily tell the difference between a pilot using a mouse and keyboard from one using a joystick. Especially if you're following it.

The only advantage to using a keyboard is the fact you can have your throttle at precisely '0' with little effort. With a joystick, it's sometimes hard to get it perfectly in the middle.

i dunno, it seems to be a compromise. i find im a far more precise helo pilot with the mouse keyboard, meanwhile my logitech wingman 3d works far better with jets as constantly dragging your mouse to make a turn isnt really condusive to good piloting :p

For flying heli's I like to use my Cyborg Evo and the keyboard. JS for most of the flying and all the gunning, and the KB for tilting. I'm not sure about the jets; I've never flown one.

I still use my mouse/keyboard for helicopters. Though I use my 3d Pro for choppers. When it comes to choppers, it's more personal choice. With planes, joysticks just own outright.

i learned to fly helos in dc with a mouse and a keyboard- i cannot no matter how hard i try get into flying helis with joysticks, but i do fly jets with joysticks.

mouse and keyboard are the best for choppers but i think the joystick is better for jets i have the logitech attack 3 it works good and its pretty cheap i just got it to see how joysticks work but its a pretty good one

witha joystick, you can make continuous turns unlike the mouse.. you can do barrel rolls constantly without having to pick up the mouse and roll it across the pad over and over again..

with a mouse and keyboard, aiming the machine gun is alot more precise since you have more control with the mouse than with the joystick but overall, a joystick is a must for the jets because its 10x more fun.
