First thing I'd do is run the game with Video settings all on low at 1024x768, also turn of EAX in the sound properties and set sound to low. See if you still have problems. What 9600 do you have? XT, Pro? You can't run all high with that rig, but lows and mediums should be ok.

Yeah, Sapphire is the manufacturer. For instance I have an ATI X800XL but it's built by MSI. Well anyways, try and reduce all your settings and then see if that helps. If it does then bring them up to med. one at a time until you have trouble again.

            Re: Choppy playing

Adjust your video settings. It sounds like the card is having trouble with it. BF2 is an extremely demanding game.

            The minimum specs are:

            1.8Ghz P4 or higher
            512Mb RAM
128Mb Video Card or higher (on supported video card list)

            Recommended:
            2.4Ghz + P4 or higher
            1GB
            256MB Video card

Basically all I can say is you meed the requirements, but you will have to wait. v1.03 should help out with optimizations, etc. which may make the game run better. But for now, you wil have to adjust in-game settings.

Also if you use onboard sound, you will want to set it to medium, as the High and Ultra-High are reserved for Creative Audigy2, and X-Fi users.

Well, unfortunately to have the eye candy and steady gameplay you'll need to spend $$. Maybe an X800 series or 6800GT or better video card. That's your weakest link.
