Hi all

I just purchased a 17 inch lcd monitor and when i play bf2 and all other games when i look around fast everything goes blurry i just would lke some help solving the problem thanks

With an 8 second response time you should have very little blur When i firt got my 2005fpw it seemed a bit blurry (12ms) but after a few days i was so used to it i didn't even notice :)

well its definately not little amounts of blur its quite severe please help me its really frustrating

There is no way to fix it. This is the downside of LCD's

Perhaps there is an .inf file for your monitor to aid it in communicating properly with your video sub-system. It should have come on a CD.

Make sure you have the refresh rate set properly. Most LCD's will crash if it's not. I have the Samsung 730B which is comparable and have to have it at 65mhz. I have no ghosting or blurriness. Perfect picture everytime.

8ms should not get any ghosting ("blurring"). Double check your .inf file as stated above. Also your refresh rate.

Also, apparently there is an issue with some Nvidia cards and blurring.

I have installed that driver and the blurring is still there it even happens when i move the mouse too fast on just the desktop wtf is going on? is there a way my old monitor has **** left behind? do i have a dud? or should i look on the net for another inf file?

What settings are you running in game? Including resolution.

1024 res tried with 60, 70 and 75 hertz and it made no difference and umm settings are medium to low

Alright I think we found the issue. You have to run it at the monitors native resolution when using LCD's. The closest for mine is 1280x960@65. Your native is 1280x1024@75hz. Therefore I'd try setting the ingame to 1280x960@75hz. I'm 99% sure this will remedy your trouble. Let me know.

You can remove your old monitor from "hidden devices" then use a Reg. cleaner to remove the rest of the old monitors entries. But remember you can't clean the Reg. of enties until the device is removed.

Remove Unused Devices

To view unused devices in Device Manager, do the following:

Open a Command Prompt by going to Start>Run and typing "cmd" (without quotes). Once the MS DOS prompt is open, type the following lines, pressing return after each:

Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1

Devmgmt.msc

Note, you can type "exit" (without quotes) in the MS DOS prompt window to close it at any time after this.

In the Device Manager window that opens, go to the View menu and select 'Show Hidden Devices' - this is very important if you want to see the unused devices. Now expand each of your devices and look through all the sub-components listed. You will see that some of the devices are shown in a lighter grey color.

What we need to look for are entries under the Monitor and Display Adapter devices. Under Monitor there should be one darker monitor entry for each monitor on your system. If there are any greyed out entries, you can remove them by right-clicking on the entry and selecting 'Uninstall'. Do this for all greyed out entries under the Monitor device.

Under the Display Adapter device, it is normal for most video cards to have two entries - a main one, and another one which has '- Secondary' next to it. These just indicate that your graphics card is capable of two separate outputs to two different display devices. You should keep both of these. Do not attempt to uninstall the dark Secondary entry. You can however uninstall all other greyed out entries under the Display Adapter device list.

If you do happen to uninstall a device which is still connected to your system, it's not the end of the world. Windows XP will usually re-detect it upon reboot and look for drivers to reinstall it.

75 hertz or 60? in the manual it says use 1280 x 1024 60 hertz for optimum performance

Sorry, the specs I saw when I googles where 1280x1024@75. If the manual says 60 use it. 75hz didn't seem right to me anyways. Set ingame to 1280x960@60hz.

ok i tried to set ingame but the res options are only 1280 x 960 and i tried that and it still did it... argh this is drivng me insane thanks for the help guys plz keep it up :)
