    BF2 Blackout prob

Ok guys, I have a problem with BF2

I am running a new SLI motherboard with an elsa geforce 7800gtx, 1gb kingston ram and an amd 3200+

my problem is that when I click the BF2 Icon to start the game, it goes black then spits me out to the desktop. I installed the latest drivers for my gfx card but I can't install patches 1.01 or 1.02 (for BF2) due to a -6005 error.

I'm gonna try installing in safemode, but any other advice would be terrific. :)

Well I was thinking along those lines too, Nortons disabled, zone alarms off.

and I just got this card, board, cpu and mem. Before it worked fine.

Unistall/ delete anything that has to do with BF2 , restart the computer and then install it again. That worked for me...

Alright that worked, thanks alot mate.

but now I'm faced with another problem. I can't install the 1.02 patch because of a -6005 error. Says to close all programs, clear temp folder and check your internet connection.
