had this happen to me a couple times too, but the flag was always white (didnt notice the NME spawning still)
The flag isnt actually at the top though is it? thought they went higher.
I just usually leave the flag and come back to it later, either someone has already capped it or it lets me cap it when i return after capping another flag/ dying
