    ATI Users: NGO ATI Optimized Driver 2.5.8

    Link: http://www.ngohq.com/home.php?page=F...t&dwn_cat_id=9

    The NGO ATI Optimized Driver is a tweaked version of the ATI Catalyst driver. The main purpose is to satisfy the users with better performance and image quality. The Driver has support for all Radeon cards.

    Changes:
    * Updated ATI Tray Tools by Ray Adams
    * Added PCI Latency Tool by Audiotrak
    * Re-implemented Softmods
    * Re-enabled DirectX WMV Acceleration
    * Automaticly set SystemPages to "ffffffff" for a better performance and compatibility
    * Minor bug fixes concerning few games and the installer

    PCI Latency Tool:
    We decided to include this handy tool so you could adjust the PCI latency in order to avoid PCI bus choking. It helps optimize performance and resolve stuttering and sound issues. It's recommended to set latency values to 64 for all your PCI/AGP Devices. This tool doesnt support PCI Express cards.

    Installation:
    Please, uninstall your previous driver before proceeding with this Installation. Please use the ATI Catalyst Uninstall Utility in order to Uninstall your current driver.

    Ultra Edition:
    The Ultra Edition is optimized for cards with 256Mb or more. It uses the ram in a more effective way in order to produce higher performance. It also may be used with 128Mb cards but don't expect the same level of performance gain.

    Standard Edition:
    The Standard Edition is recommended for All Radeon cards. This edition is especially recommended for those users that can't use the Ultra Edition.

    **I like these.

        I have the X850XT AGP 256mb and it works great. Better than the Catalyst 5.8 (ccc)

          I installed them and I did better with the Catalyst 5.8... what does it mean when it says to install them for x800xl(secondary)

            i assume you have windows, well i do not know why windows does this, but it thinks that we all have 2 monitors. Its ok you are fine though. Plus this thing will rock with your X800XL. It will do almost as great as my X850XT. Plus this fixes this the studdering issue as well. Plus i would recommend also to follow Talus' sticky http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28651

              It doesn't "think" you have 2 monitors at all. Most cards have two adapters in the back. I have two DVI and an S-Video on the back of my card.

              As far as performance increases.....I'll wait for my 2'nd gig of ram coming Thursday, lol.
