Buttons don't work?

Occasionally my buttons don't work like I have set them up in the "Controls" menu. If I restart the game they will work. Anyone know why?

BF2 has tendency to lose things like key bindings. I have never had a problem in-game with them being lost, or being lost period, but many people report simular problems.
